-Intro-

Hello! This is a personal project of mine, but others are welcome to join in/start their own! A few years back on LioDen I had a little "project" I called the "12 Gen Project." What was the 12 Gen Project? Well, on LD, after doing the math, I discovered that within a year you could go through 12 generations of a lioness' descendants if each next generation was bred on their first heat and you kept a (female) cub to repeat the process. It was meant to be an interesting way to track and see how appearances could change in your pride over a single year, intentionally or otherwise. I've been wanting to revive the project for some time, but just haven't had the motivation lately over on LD. I'm hoping to revive the project here on WD. Not only that, but starting this in WD's first year will mean that this project and its records can also be a little "time capsule" of WD itself ^^ As new markings and bases are released into the game, they will certainly have a chance of appearing within this project. This version of the project is not going to be as concerned with getting to a certain generation, rather just seeing how much the generations change in appearance (and stats) over a year.

-Info/Guidelines-

This section will contain all the guidelines I will be following for this project. Anyone who wishes to join in themselves are recommended to follow these as well, but it is not fully required. These are guidelines not rules. This breeding project allows for quite a bit of freedom on the breeder's part. It is more about keeping detailed records rather than a specific goal. You may have your own goals which you could use this project to track, such as trying to get a combo base or markings or the like. 

  • 1 founding female must be chosen. She must be either a Newly Befriended Wolf or a custom wolf, or any case with no heritage.
  • Females beyond the founding female must not be customized or edited until after the next generation female is bred.
  • Females are not to be bred to their father (at least for purpose of breeding the next generation project female). This is to keep as much potential variation as possible. (That does not mean they can not be inbred, just avoid using the same stud for two generations in a row. You can choose to do this "clean" or not.)
  • Next generation female should be recorded as soon as possible after she is born. 
  • Breeding does not need to occur within first day of first heat, it just must be done during the first heat.
  • (Optional) If only males are born out of female's first litter, one pup will be chosen to become female and be the next generation female. (If not, mother will be rebred the next heat.)
  • Only 1 pup is chosen as the next generation to be recorded. (This is for simplicity sake.) You may chose "backups" from the litter in case of pup not surviving. 
  • Mother can be kept, chased, or sold after next generation is bred. 

How Records Are Formatted

  • Records are organized by generation, starting with the 1st gen or founding female.
  • Image of adult appearance (when born) should be posted, given that is the primary point of this.
  • Appearance info (base, markings, eyes, skin, claws, etc.) should all be included. 
  • Stats at birth and stats when bred should both be recorded in case of changes.
  • Records should be kept in 1 post/thread per person or otherwise linked into a post (if you feel like keeping the records externally, like through a google doc or some other kind of website/method). 
  • A personal starting date should be noted (starting date would be the day the 2nd gen female is born, since your recording the changes in the 1st gen's descendants).
  • Records of the father/stud are optional.

This sounds fun - thanks for this project! I'll join in with at least one wolf, maybe more. c: It'll be really fun to see if any random mutations pop up in any of the generations.

I'm not sure how to format wolves' information like in your example, and the preview button is missing for me. So, my post might look wonky for a bit. XP (Edit: Fixed!)

Generations Project with Aradia

Goal: A wolf with a biotite base, a white merle marking, and purple/violet eyes. She would look hecka pretty. (I decided this after the second generation was already born, d'oh.)

Start Date: 11/17/20 (this date is based off of the creation date of my third generation female. I could not find a "Puppies Born" message from that date and work backwards to find when I bred my second generation female. I likely used instant pup delivery.)
