Hareo ~> A Semi-Lit // Lit Pack in the making

Hareo ~> A Semi-Lit // Lit Pack in the making

Wandering further into the depths of the wood, each paw step seemed to conflict with their own sense of self. A canine, figure blurred by the shadows of towering fir and oak. Or, perhaps, obscured by the frantic pace they had taken upon. Weaving through the thicket and brush, the canis lupus seemed to hesitate in casting a fleeting glance towards their own tail. The reasoning clear as the multiple sets of eyes that chased after.

Only ticks beforehand, the canine at the lead had been laying with their own clan. Their family, their life. Their pack. And yet, as the sun rose high in the sky, their King decided against the adult being within the harem. Maybe for their pelt was not perfect? Maybe for the scars littering their body? Or, just maybe, for being different? The wolf itself did not know the answer, and doubted that it's former family members knew. After all, they blindly did as told without complaint.

Fear struck deep in the canine's ever beating heart as the wolves seemed to only gain. Searching the glade, trying to find some route of escape, it was clear to them the path they must take once the hot breath of their own former mentor clipped at their tail.

Ever since the time of an infant, the wolf had been advised to stay far, far from the unexplored lands boarding the north boundary. Surely, the ones that told them of the tail feared the valley as well?

It was worth a try, as if it was not tried upon, death would surely welcome the canine.

Heaving tail towards the border, almost instantly the paw steps thundering after them calmed to a light elk herd trot. The wolf couldn't help but take a moment to give a gleeful yowl. The legends and rumors had been enough to keep the rest of her former pack wary, unwilling to cross or even near the border.

Too lost in their pure joy, the canine did not notice the large gape in the landscape ahead of her. Paws falling upon uneven ground, the figure toppled against the ground. Steep slope sending their mass rolling, the wolf yelped and yowled as it's form crashed into boulder and trees alike, momentum flinging them down the hill with a passion unseen.

Atop the hill, an advisor stood with a grim demeanor, brows furrowed. A smaller female next to him spoke, voice trembling.

"Although ordered of execution, I do not wish the fall of death on any soul.." Her voice drifted off as she thought to amend her statement. "Any soul but the damned."

Shaking his head lightly, the male glanced to the countess. "Even the damned do not suffer that, my darling.. May Athera guide them."

        .  .  .

  Floating.

That is how the wolf would describe the current situation. Floating along in the void of darkness without a care in the world. The search for an answer eerily unspoken. Yet a peaceful calm, the quiet songs of the ancestors soothing their mind.

In the black, the balance of the world, the canine could hear a voice in the songs of the earth growing louder. Louder, louder, louder, until the thundering tone sent a bolt through what seemed to be the canine's very soul.

Jolting awake, the wolf took a moment to heave in large breaths of air.

Assessing the situation, it was clear to see that the mutt was in a shallow dip in the dirt. Wounded wrapped with plant fiber and honey, Huratik know what else under that. A chuckle snapped them from their state, causing their gaze to wander to the glowing eyed male next to their frame.

"I see you have been cast out as well, yes? Not many survive that fall." He admitted quietly, startling the young canine further.

"I have neglected to introduce myself, it seems. I am Dionysus. One of the five packs lining the valley cast me out as well~ And I plan to return the favor."

"Are you to help, young one?"

Hareo

In a valley said to be laced with death and destruction, a male left for dead rises above the odds. Trusting in himself to gain strength, find other wolves, and one day take over the entire landscape. The pack will be the heroes of those that are cast aside, of those that are forgotten. They are Hareo.
