The rapid beating of the heart monitor filled the air. Todd felt himself fading away, his body didn't feel with him anymore. He was gone, he thought to himself. No longer among the living. It was all so sudden. life felt so short, but he never regretted it.
Death was an interesting subject. You couldn't think because you didn't have a head, but you could feel your soul in a ghost like way. It was definitely not like anything he'd ever experienced, but it was gonna happen anyway.

Then, he felt a supernatural presence, unlike anything you could ever imagine, and he was given spiritual eyes. What he saw could never be explained, but he knew it was the Creator, the I Am. "Todd," the Creator said, knowing his name, like he did everyone, everywhere. "You have brought joy to the world I have created. Many loved you, so I will give a gift no human has experienced. Another life." That was all the I Am proposed. Todd, tried to say thank you, but realized he wasn't there anymore. He sensed his soul moving into something else. It was a weird feeling, he was in darkness, but Todd felt warm and at ease.
He opened his new eyes, only to see a dark brown she-wolf with a red hue in her fur, which was also decorated in feathers of all sorts. She was holding a strange looking pot in her muzzle. Todd's ease turned into cold fear. He leaped backwards from his lying position only to slam into a wall. It hurt, and he felt blood trickle from his back, but his eyes were fixed on the wolf.  "Where am I?" He said, shaking his head, which felt awkward and different. "Why is there a wolf here? Is someone there? Hello!" The she-wolf cocked her head, seeming confused. "Did it work?" She said in her raspy voice.
Todd was in udder disbelief. That wolf just talked! Im going crazy! He thought. "What did you just say?" "Well," the wolf said "you're supposed to be gone remember? You felt a calling for your soul to go, so you came to me, and you dropped dead right in front of me." She suddenly jerked up "Wait, are you not Beckham?"
Todd looked around, it looked like a den from lord of the rings or something. Underground, herbs gave the place an aroma, and many pots rested on the ground beside her. "How are you talking? You're a wolf. How did I get here?"The wolf picked up a clay pot a moved it to the center of the den. "So you're not him." She said simply. "Ok, let's start from the beginning. What were you Before you went into Beckham's body?" Todd looked down at himself and realized it. He wasn't a human anymore. He was a wolf! He had been given a wolfs body. He scrambled around, trying to comprehend that he was a wolf, and a wolf was talking to him. Finally, he kept his cool and answered the she-wolf, who was waiting patiently for him to reply.
"My name is Todd. I was a human, I guess I didn't realize it right away." He spoke, calming down.
The wolf looked around and found her food stash. She picked up a slab of venison and laid it front of him. "My name is Montari. Im the lands crazy she-wolf." She said, chuckling to herself. "Or so they think. I can teach you some things about being a wolf, but lemme tell you something. Never, and I mean Ever, tell a wolf you were a human. Do you understand?" Todd nodded slowly, a little fear crept up his spine. She seemed to motion to the venison chunk for him to eat it. He was still lying down so he got up. His limbs felt strange, but he figured it out. The venison was oddly delicious, filling his stomach made him feel better.
Montari counseled him about being a wolf. She was a tad pushy, but he liked her presence. She concluded that he needed a pack, after teaching him pack ways of course. A pack that could understand that he didn't  know much about pack ways. Montari suggested to ask the Sunlight Dragons if he could join them.
Todd walked warily down a path with trees on both sides. He was not used to being able to smell and hear so much. It was definitely mind boggling that he died a man and woke up a wolf. And it was all thanks to I Am.
He kept repeating the story the crazy wolf told him to say in his head. He was not to say he used to be human, but to say he was a lone wolf lost in the outer lands and didn't know pucky about packs. "Im gonna die again." He said sarcastically to himself.
In that same instant, a flash of fur darted to his side and slammed him to the ground. It was so fast he didn't have time to react. An immense, colorful wolf with elk antlers adorned with feathers pinned him to the ground. "State your business!" He said firmly. Todd assumed this isn't how wolves are supposed to greet and got confused. "Do you know where the Sunlight Dragons pack is?" The big wolf let out a low growl. "Off topic. Answer my question!" Todd quivered when the wolf spoke. What was he to do? He didn't know why the wolf was acting that way. Was he gonna kill him if he answered wrong? "I-Im a lone wolf from the ou-outerlands, I don't know how packs work, but I wanted to at least try." The wolfs eyes softened a bit. He stepped off of Todd and let out a quiet bark. As Todd got up and shook himself off, a small, she-wolf herbalist stepped timidly out of the bushes. "She was attacked for no reason by a chased wolf. I've been guarding her for the past couple days while she foraged for herbs."
He stood before Todd in an alpha like manner. "I and Yeargan The Brutal. You mentioned the Sunlight Dragons? I am part of that pack and will gladly take you there, as long as you are who you say you are." Todd sighed in relief. "That would be great, I'm pretty tired."
They walked into the territory, Yeargan was on his side, and the herbalist lagged behind. A beautiful wolf approached the trio with a high head and tail. She was an older wolf, and her face was drowned in scars. The sight of her made Todd shiver. She had to be alpha. Todd thought to himself. "Yeargan," she said sternly. "Who is this wolf?" Todd dropped low, a little sloppy, but what you would expect for a new wolf.
"He said he is a loner from the outer lands." Yeargan said. "He obviously doesn't know pack ways that well, so I believe him." Icewalker gave a suspicious look at the strange wolf. He almost seemed wobbly. But, nevertheless, she trusted Yeargan and he knew it.
"You can join, but you better learn quickly or else it might get annoying." The she-wolf said, giving him a warm, welcoming smile He quickly adjusted to the new life, and learned to love it. He learned to hunt and play, he made friends and wrestled with puppies, and best of all, Todd got to relove life again.
