Choose Your Adventure! (Lead-A-Pack)

i'm really not sure- i'd say either A or B, because we don't know much about Fremder plus he followed us all the way back..? but also, sending Chumani away would only increase her suspicion, although she has already told us what she knows

I flipped a coin and A won, so off Chumani goes!
------------------------------

While the earnest look in Fremder's eyes screams sincerity, it's hard to shake the suspicion. You figure you've gotten all of the information Chumani has to offer though so it might be best to send her away while you sort out what Fremder's deal is.

"Chu, I think you should go and check in on Skah. I've got to sort this out and he," You motion towards the intruder, "might have the information I need."

"You can't be serious." Her voice is filled with incredulity.

"I'm the expert here, just do as I say. Please." You add the 'please' as an afterthought, hoping that giving Chumani the illusion that she has a choice will make her more inclined to leave.

"Fine, I'll go check on Skah. But I'm coming right back." She throws a glare Fremder's way for good measure before taking off, making sure to shoulder check him on the way past.

"Spill you little sneak." You cut right to the point, not aiming to make small talk as it won't take too long for Chumani to return.

"I'm sorry for following you back," His ears are laying flat on his head as he rushes through another round of apologies, "Really, I just wanted to offer some help in case you were going to send Skah back. But then you mentioned Rúhig and…well he was the alpha of the Wolken pack when I was born."

"Go on." You watch him with rapt interest.

"He was a great leader…at first. He really cared about the prosperity of the pack and what was best for everyone. But then, around the time of my first big hunt he…changed. He went on a scouting mission to the far north with his second in command, intending to see what lay beyond the ice wastelands. He was the only one who returned, saying that something had attacked them. Rúhig managed to get away but our pack beta wasn't as lucky. He was different after that, he hardly ever spoke. All of his orders were delivered through his messenger. He didn't sleep in the pack den, no matter the weather he slept under the stars. Alone. He would go on long journeys, sometimes disappearing for months at a time. Then last summer he came back and declared that he had been enlightened. That all had been revealed and that there were traitors among the pack. He drove away nearly everyone save for a few of us. By next winter there were only a handful of us left. He went out on a solo hunt, in the middle of winter mind you, and his messenger returned with news that he was gone."

"He died? How?" You interject, as Fremder pauses.

"No, he didn't die. He was just gone. Jaulen, his messenger, said he seemed to just vanish. He walked out into a frozen lake and was gone in the blink of an eye. No broken ice, no sign of any disturbance in fact." Fremder shrugs as he finishes.

"What the?" As helpful as this information was, it didn't do anything to clear up the confusion about Skah. Even if the wolf in question was still alive, that wouldn't explain why you can't see anything about him. As you continue to ponder, the sound of a small ruckus meets your ears and you groan. Chumani is back and it sounds like she brought the calvary with her. You try to warn Fremder but before you can open your mouth the large male is tackled from behind. For the second time today, you watch him tumble head over paws landing with an 'oof!'.

"What business do you have here trespasser?" The mottled fur of one half of the resident troublemakers is bristled as he bears down on Fremder.

"Auntie Chu gave us permission to maul you as we see fit." Hanska, the other half of the duo meanders up to stand beside his brother Mika.

"I'm just here to help." Fremder groans, exasperated with having to explain himself yet again.

"A likely story." Mika sneers.

"Boys, that's enough." You grumble, wondering why Chumani chose these two chuckleheads to deal with Fremder.

--------------------------
A) Tell the twins that Fremder is a guest and to treat him as such. Invite Fremder to stay the night with the pack.

B) Tell the twins that Fremder is your problem to deal with. Escort Fremder back into Woohpe territory.

A? it would be odd to call him a helper, then call him a problem, and see him away (at least in my eyes ). plus, i'm sure both of them are plenty tired

"Aw come on, Cha! Let us teach this spy a lesson." Hanska gets that odd glint in his eye that hints at something darker lurking behind them.

"I said enough." You add a harsher growl, hoping you got your point across.

"Cha, you're no fun." Mika reluctantly steps off of Fremder.

"We came out here for nothin'." Hanska whines.

"Why don't you check the perimeter to see if there are any more intruders lurking about?" You offer.

"You're just giving us busy work." The glare Mika tosses your way reminds you that they aren't naive pups anymore. They had their Welcome Ceremonies a half moon ago, now full fledged members of the pack.

"Then shut your maw and lets go." You motion for Fremder to follow you as you head back towards the main den site. The twins fall in line behind Fremder, taking turns snapping at his hind legs every few strides or so. You debate on stopping them but figure that's a fit punishment for Fremder trekking into your territory uninvited.

----------------------------

Once you break through the brush and into the clearing you're bombarded with a chorus of 'Welcome back's and 'Where have you been's. You greet everyone and answer questions vaguely, eyes scanning for a familiar set of pale eyes. Skah is nowhere to be seen and you're a bit relieved. Not ready to face the youngster quite yet.

"We were about to send out a search part for you." Tokala teases as she strides up, eyebrows raised as she looks over the new guest.

"I ran into a…friend," You offer, the word feels strange coming out of your mouth, "Everyone this is Fremder of the Woohpe Pack, he's here as my guest."

At that the demeanor of the group changes and they switch into hospitality mode. Tokala offers a smile as she leads Fremder over to the food store to get him fed, a nosy Talutah trailing behind. A soft tut catches your attention and you turn to see Mina looking you over fretfully.

"That's a mighty gnarly cut you've got there. What have you been up to?" The herbalist tilts her head, her tone teasing.

"Caught a low hanging branch." You shrug and offer a toothy smile.

"That must have been some branch." Mina mutters as she trots off to no doubt grab some supplies to better clean your wound.

"I don't like him."

"You like everyone."

"Not him, there's something off with him."

"Well then that's for me to worry about, Talutah." You fix her with a stern look, implying that this conversation is over.

"Surely you're not going to let him sleep here." She ignores the implication.

"It would be rude not to, it's getting dark." You droll.

"Well just wait until Zika gets back-"

"Don't you go putting ideas into her head you blabbermouth. Just leave it, I'll look after him. I won't let him out of my sight." This is the last thing you need right now, Talutah and her big mouth spreading rumors and gods know what else. Can't she just go along to get along for one blasted night? Talu's grumbling is cut off at the sight of her daughter coming back with the medicine for your wound.

"Stop causing trouble, Ma." Mina chastises with a stern look.

"I'm not!" Talu pouts and you hold back a smile at the reverse parent/pup relationship.

"Then go and play nice with our guest. And bring something for Cha to eat." Mina adds the last bit as Talu stalks off. Mina sets to re-dressing your wound with a sort of focused look on her face that she only gets when she is tending to a packmate. Talu is back before Mina is finished, dropping a scrawny rabbit at your paws with a huff. For all of Talu's charm and wit, she can be quite combative when she doesn't get her way. Her pout turns into a sly look as her ears perk up and she glances towards the other side of the clearing.

"Zikana's back." She grins and stands to go fill her in on what she missed.

----------------

A) Intercept Zikana, you don't need Talutah riling up the other den mothers right now

B) Go find Skah, you need to pacify her worries. Even if that means lying right to her face.

C) Eat first! You can't do anything on an empty stomach, nor should you.
