Need Help!



I haven't designed a Sona in… ugh idk give or take 10 years?… so I wanted to change things up; but idk if I can remember how lol. Maybe I've just lost inspiration idk; but it isn't coming to me as easily as it once did. I doodled this little design above … but idk if it's too bland yk? Like you've seen that look a dozen times before :/ any tips before I move forward?? Does it even read well as a character??? So much going through my mind

Honestly, the reason it feels harder now is probably because you're better at it and there's more thought being put into the process than there used to be. I like the design personally, everything seems well balanced and even if it's not the most unique, the color palette is appealing and the lack of tail/general silhouette still makes the character distinctive. At the end of the day just about everything has been done before, doesn't mean you can't make it your own.

Thank you, I really appreciate that and needed to hear it. I keep drilling myself about the whole " uniqueness " part but in the end I feel like accessories and my art style may make up for the design (: also as long as this looks balanced to fresh eyes; that elevates sm worry!
