Shadow Runners are a refuge group from the Hallowed Grotto, an ever-shifting mass of wolves that seek to harm more than they help those that go into the dried forests that surround the wetlands. Spurred on by her adult sons, Pathfinder, her family, and a young mother with pups of her own to feed set off in search of a new place to call home, unburdened by the hardships they faced under the reign of Lútha, the malicious leader of the pack they called home for seasons.

However - surviving on their own proves difficult, both in personality mismatch and indecisiveness between the individuals who somehow have to form a cohesive unit. Pathfinder and Aife often butt heads - one not liking the other's... "efficient" method of leadership and would rather be the leader of the others herself. The pack in its infancy needs stability, something that Aife enthusiastically thinks Pathfinder lacks.
