Ya'll, I just need to share this news!

Hey Wolvden!

Friendly neighborhood Akalore here!

I've got some pretty cool news and I just wanted to share it with some folks who may (or may not) find the same excitement as I do. Or, you know, you could just tell me to kick a rock, that's cool too.

ANYWAY. So, you guys probably don't know but I raise, train and show dogs as a hobby/passion. I've been doing it for 15 years. My breed? The mighty American pit Bull Terrier. Ya know, the king of dogs. (insert awkward laugh).

Alright so, despite Covid being so harsh on us (and everyone else -pray-) this year, I was able to attend some of our local shows. Now, for those who aren't familiar with the term "show", it is literally that. A show for dogs. We usually dress in these unnecessarily expensive gitups and parade our four legged companions around a ring for a complete stranger (who is familiar with the standard of each breed) to judge. They evaluate each dog against the standard and then select which dog(s) they think best match. Well, I got mail today. I didn't know it but...MY BRED BY BABY GIRL FINISHED HER CHAMPIONSHIP in September! I am usually pretty good about keeping track of the points after each show but I must have miscounted somewhere because her champion certificate came in the mail today and, I am beyond elated.

That same weekend she also earned her UWP. Oops, sorry. That means United Weight Pull title. It's a title given to dogs who qualify for their max weight pulled on wheels or rails in a competition. Not only did she get all her qualifications, but my little girl also won MOST WEIGHT PULLED PER POUND of ANY dog that competed that weekend. eeeee

So, that is amazing news right? Well, this coming weekend, we are heading out of state to our national show up north and I am stoked. I cannot wait to see how she does in the champions class and in higher divisions of weight pull. I am beyond elated of this little dog and proud that she is my first bred by that has achieved so much and continues to. Oh, bred by means that I am her actual breeder. I owned her mom and her dad and I got to be there and watch her itty bitty self be born. So, it's a huge accomplishment when someone who owns the dog is also the breeder of the dog and gets such recognition.

Anyway, I am so sorry to have taken up so much of your time. I just really wanted to share this amazing news for everyone else to enjoy as well. If anyone ever wants to talk shows, dogs or if you have questions about what I do with my dogs, please NEVER hesitate to ask either here or PM. I am always down to talk!

We compete in conformation, weight pull, lure coursing, scent work, barn hunt, dock diving, mill racing, tug of war and so much more!

Cheers!

Firstly, this is so fascinating to be let in on. I guess the world of dogs and shows isn't something I think about often. Secondly...

C O N G R A T S ! ! !

Give that prize-winning pup a good kiss on the head and some treats (as if you haven't already!).

Congratulations!  Isn't it an amazing feeling! You deserve to be proud. I finished my Rottie bitch not long before the madness hit, and it was a pretty dull summer without our normal show schedule so it's great to hear some happy news from dog land.

congrats!! was the championship through ADBA or UKC?

im always down to talk about dog showing, sports, and any other dog related topic ^-^ im a huge dog nerd, lol. i have an american staffordshire terrier who i was planning to do some sports with, but shes been diagnosed with a chronic illness so sadly had to scrap those plans. i'm potentially getting a sport prospect in a year or so though, so thats exciting! haven't decided on a breed yet but most likely i'm going to go for one of the smaller terrier breeds.

i'm kind of rambling about myself now, lol, so i'll stop. but like bonibaru mentioned, a lot of people who show/compete have had to sit on the sidelines for the majority of the year, so it's always very exciting to hear anyone's accomplishments !

also, if you've got any pictures of your dog(s) that you'd be willing to share, i'd love to see! congrats again!!

Hey!

Actually our nationals was through AADRI. And we did amazing! I was so proud of my crew.

Anevy -  AADRI MBPIS Ch. UKC Jamor Ptd UWP Vanguard/CTK Sound Of Silence

-Pull Master pointed

-Tug Master pointed

-Spring Master pointed

She finished the weekend with a Champion of Champion trophy, second in Champions and third in Champions. She also earned a 3rd in WP at 1100lbs pulled her second time ever pulling and first time on rails. She also got a 3rd on Saturday for lure course and 1st and best overall sprint on sunday for nationals.

My boy Krixus - AADRI BIS Ptd SRK'S Raptor Ona Rocketship

- Sprint Master pointed

He got no love all weekend in Conformation and still sits at only needing 2 points to champion. Lol. He did pick up a third in lure course and a 2nd behind Anevy on sunday for lure course.

Overall, I was super proud of my pups. They both did very well and brought home lots of pretty trophies, rosettes and ribbons.

Thank you so much for your congrats! You can view my website (which needs works, lol) here for pics!

Wow huge congratulations! I Checked out your website your dogs are absolutely stunning! What a marvelous breeding program you have going.

I show, train and hope to breed English Foxhounds so I am always up to talk dogs, sports, shows, whatever. I currently compete in showing (mostly AKC because UKC is not popular with my breed, heck AKC isn’t even popular with my breed lol). I also do many many sports with my hounds, we focus on obedience, rally, tracking, and just recently started Fast CAT with one of my hounds. He is now the first English Foxhound in history to ever earn a BCAT title!
