Hi! I am currently working on a rather big RP world, and I have quickly realized I need more hands on deck to make this world come together. I have maps, started on a good bit of the info, and have plenty of ideas. I jus really need help putting this all together. Here’s some info I have worked out currently!! There’s more, much more, but this is what I’m willing to publicly share.

if you’re interested please send me a idea you have for the RP world with some development so I can see what ideas you have to offer and your development skills!

Grand Pack Ethonin

Grand Pack Ethonin is a cooperative and roleplay group for members on Wolvden. In a AU style roleplay world, our respective packs work together to survive a harsh world. Roleplay as a character of your own design, and work with other role players to organize a unit, and elect leaders as former leaders retire, or pass on; or establish a chain of command so a pre-selected member takes on leadership. Take to our OOC Threads to chat about the game, get help or advice, or just have a simple conversation! Read on to learn more about the Grand Pack, and how to join.

Pack Overview

Grand Pack Ethonin is the first attempt at various families of wolves coming together to operate as a collaborative, rather than fight each other for territory and food. Several family packs have been established, and the mating pair of each pack serve as members of a Grand Council. Together, they determine the best course to take for the Grand Pack, and the territory as a whole. Their system isn’t perfect, but each generation of Council Members bring evolution in some form. Currently, a total of 5 Family Packs are allowed to reside within the Grand Pack of Ethonin, and a petition to expand has not yet been brought forward by a Council Member.

Pack History

History tells us of a time when wolves were hunted, bringing extinction to many breeds, and bringing the others close to the brink. Wolves were described as endangered, and yet strange two legged upright beings would hold their own strange version of wolves hostage in their tiny buildings and variously sized territories, if some had a territory at all. Some of these strange beings understood that wolves had value and that the elimination of wolves would cause devastating effects to the environment. Many fought to bring the wolves numbers back, and give them the land they once owned. Although it worked, the world faced a new threat.

The beings broke into an evil war. Bloodshed spread, innocents murdered even in their sleep and their killers walked free. Gasses, beatings, illness and famine was only the beginning of their downfall. Good beings tried hard to fight against the dangers, but in the end, the world was powerless against the abuse of power that led to their extinction. Anything that survived the mushroom clouds were sick, infected with a strange illness that would overtake them in death, malformed or genetically altered. Those that managed to escape the effects entirely were never mentally the same.

That went for all of the world. The beings, the elk, the rabbits and coyotes, fish and insects, birds and even the plants. Suffering and death created the new world, and it wasn’t one that the weak would survive. That proved to be true in the coming years.

Millions of years have passed since then, and the world we know now reflects nothing of what History shared with us. Creatures and plants all resemble their ancestors, but have changed to survive today’s environment. Our ancestors were small, weak, their senses weakened and they were rather plain looking as well. Although we look similar, we look unnatural to their normal, and are much larger, stronger, more aware, and even smarter. But, that didn’t prevent us from nearly destroying ourselves as well.

Only a few generations ago, the idea of a Grand Pack did not exist. Several small packs waged war for territory, food, and access to clean water. The land was over hunted, overrun, and beaten down by those that chose to disrespect the earth we lived off of. A few families couldn’t bear the losses anymore, beaten down to just a few members, most of their family killed or lost to starvation and thirst. Enough was enough. These few families found one another and established an alliance, although a rocky one at that. But, with their combined strategies and strength, they were able to defeat the packs overrunning the land and chase the rest out. Within just a few years, the populations began to even out. The water replenished and even changed course, and with that new plant life erupted.

The members elected to continue to work together to protect the territory and ensure their families had peace for generations to come. Thus, Grand Pack Ethonin was born. Named for Evolution and Cooperation, Ethonin would become a word to be proud of and a pack to watch carefully.

Pack Politics

Pack politics are not much different from other packs. Issues within a family unit, remains that unit's responsibility. However, when issues arise that involve multiple or all units within the Grand Pack, the council convenes and takes a vote for majority to make decisions for the best interest of the Grand Pack. The packs all cooperate for survival, they gather at every New Moon for formal discussion, using the shadows to cover their tracks and locations; however they also gather at every full moon for activities and fun to maintain relationships.

As with any pack, each unit may only have one breeding pair. This breeding pair is established via RP; remember, this is a AU, so your “Actual” pack members don’t actually exist, though you may use their designs for your RP character. How a mate is chosen is up to each unit to decide a tradition. Will your unit allow freedom to choose who you love, or will your unit treat partnerships as a diplomatic duty instead? These partners act as advisors, but do not hold much political weight unless directly promoted. A partner may be promoted to a co-leader rank, but this does not mean all partners would hold this rank depending on unit values. Some partners may also choose to take up a job placement instead of enjoying the luxury of their privileged partnerships or taking the path of politics; such as becoming herbalists or scouts. Depending on the unit traditions, some restrictions may apply, but a canine may never be denied some form of work under the Grand Pack. A partner is also the only wolf in the pack that may abstain from maintaining a job, aside from elderly or otherwise unfit to work canines. Even pups have a job, which is to be pups and learn how to be a wolf!
