Most of the fish aren't items to catch. I think because the idea is that you are catching fish and getting SC for them. There are "legendary" catches, these DO turn into items that go into your hoard. Some of those are food items, some are amusement items.

Along with what Msasi said, sometimes you will get an item called "delicate fish meat," but I believe it's just a random chance to drop on any fish submitted.

Oh, right, Delicate Meat! I believe it isn't random, but if you get in a specific top percentage of the possible weight for that fish.

Edit: Grouse House says top 50%
