Aliit (ah-LEET) Family, clan.
"We've been following the Aliit for quite some time now… a few years, maybe. It all blurs now. Only getting glimpses of the wolves you love so much can start to wear you down."

"Welcome to the Field Notes. Here we follow the going-ons of the Aliit, a small pack of wolves in the Canadian province of Alberta. We keep track of pups born and killed, wolves chased, hunts, and everything in between. Sometimes, our researchers get lucky, and manage to spot some of the wolves' interactions with each other and the world around them."

Field Notes update on the last day of every season.

[Fall, year 6]

"The pack is doing amazing! With a total of 21 pups being born, the adults definitely have their paws full. The hunters are working around the clock to feed everyone, and incredibly it seems like they still have food to spare! We keep finding their caches stuffed full of dead critters."
"Some of the team is nervous. They say our colleagues back at base have been pouring over the territories reports. Something about sick animals. Now that I think about it, maybe there was way too many carcasses in that last cache…"

[Revamped the den.]

[Winter, Year 6]

"Something horrible has happened. They were doing so well. They'd had more pups, but…"
"They went off the map for a few days. When we saw the lead, Atin, again… She was alone. Well, not entirely. Genet was still with her, and one of their pupsitters, Viinir, and the stalker Mesh'gotal, but that was it. The rest of the hunters were gone. All the pups too. They'd just had an albino one, a little girl. We don't know where they went."
"Since finding them again, they've been joined by two others. A one-eyed chaser we've named Gra'tua, and a big male we've started calling Buruk. If you know the translations to those words, you know how we feel about the newcomers…"
"Buruk has quickly taken up the spot Haastal left, becoming the breeding male. He's… definitely a big puppy. Throws his weight around like nothing else, but at least he's not as bad at Gra'tua. That one will snap at all the other wolves."
"Anyway, we've found them again. They'd left the coniferous forest in the west with little fanfare, making their way to Atin's old stomping grounds in the southern prairies. We're looking into a radio collar for Genet… she seems careful enough that she won't loose it. We won't lose track of them again."
"We've gotten some data back from our colleagues. The animals near the Rocky Mountains have been sick. I think "Corrupted" is the word one man used. There is not other reason the pack suddenly went dark on us, reappearing miles away. Hopefully they can find a solution to this soon, I can't think of how much the wildlife has suffered this winter."

[Pack Interactions, documented by Trail Cam]

Buruk and Gra'tua were fighting again. Gra'tua had finally had enough of Buruk walking too close to his meal, and the two males were tussling in the melting snow. Atin, Genet, Mesh'gotal and Viinir watched from nearby. Atin carefully, most likely wondering what kind of wolves she'd let into her pack. Genet was resigned, as the oldest hunter used to squabbles. Mesh'gotal was quiet as always, and Viinir was barely paying attention, too busy anxiously looking around him. The pupsitter was more heartbroken than any of the others after loosing the pups.
The prairie was cold, still so cold in the late winter. The snow was slush during the few hours in the middle of the day, and ice when the sun went down. They'd have a few more weeks of this cold snap yet.

[MASSIVE revamp of the Aliit. It is now a private line, realism pack. All the wolves currently in the pack are NBWs.]
