Hi! In general I think it's best to figure out pricing in USD or whatever irl currency you use, and instead convert that to Wolvden cones.

It's a little hard to figure out pricing based off what you've shown, but I personally would not lower your prices from what you've suggested. If anything, I might raise them. Because currently, in USD, your prices are as follows:
(assuming 1 GC = 25 cents, based off GC prices at the Grove)
headshot $3.75
bust/halfbody $7.50
fullbody $12.50
+ background $2.50
+ decor 50 cents
This seems cheap for a commission from what I've seen of your work, imo. (and also in general!)
I can't comment on the YCH pricing as I have little to no experience buying or selling that sort of thing.

I also notice you make no note of shading - do you plan on offering flat color only? If not, you should definitely differentiate between shaded/non-shaded and add an extra charge for shading, since that takes extra time like a background or decor. And if you are doing flat color only, make sure to note that on your shop page.

And speaking of decor, I think no matter your skill level, you're really robbing yourself with that decor charge. Some Wolvden decors can be really complex and take time to add - 50 cents would be practically drawing it for free. Perhaps differentiate between simple and complex decors, and decide for yourself if you want to charge more for a complex decor or just not allow it in the comm. Because for example, a 50 cent charge for adding a jewelery, feather, or antler decor would make sense; but 50 cents would not make sense for adding stuff like tattoos, wings, etc.

Hope this helps!

Oh man, when you put it in that kind of context it really makes me rethink my prices... I've never really done public commissions before, mostly I just do drawings for my friends free of charge, so I'm really quite lost and clueless about typical commission pricing. I'll have another think about it and see if I can find a good spot between what I'm worth, what people can afford, and what the market sits at

In terms of shading it is definitely not my strong point and because of that, I don't feel entirely comfortable charging people extra for it. That being said, my artwork won't be straight flats either. While it is my kryptonite I still like making the effort to try and shade as best I can, so all artwork will be in some in-between point between shaded and flat.

You do raise a good point about decor though! I might review my prices and make decor pricing a case-by-case sort of deal.

This has been super helpful thank you so much!!!
