"Oh! She looks just like her father!"

I couldn't quite see yet as I was just a pup but I could hear the voices around me. I whines for my mother who quickly came over and settled down next to me.

She signed, "She does, doesn't she? She will never meet him but should I name her in his honor?" My mother replied to the other she-wolf.

"I think that is a great idea. He is a great wolf."

"well I think that settles it", my mom gave me a quick sniff, "Reaper, you will do great things"

In this moment I managed to open my eyes for the first time and take in my surroundings. My litter mates were calm, obviously, the noise was not bugging them. I looked up at my mother and her friend who both looked back at me with strange faces.

"Well Glass, she has your eyes...", the she-wolf said quietly.

"You are beautiful Reaper, absolutely gorgeous"
