Future Breeding Desirability: Hunter Roles & Stats

Future Breeding Desirability: Hunter Roles & Stats
Posted 2020-10-30 20:15:49

I'm wondering if people are eventually going to start stat-specialisation with regards to breeding specific hunters. 🤔 Like, if your breeding stud is a scout, you might be able to keep stat gains decently spread, but if he's a hunter, he's going to be picking up more stats for his specific role!

My own stud is a Chaser, for example, and already his stats for Agility and Speed are 9+ higher than his next-highest stat! This means that, really, a lot of his pups are going to be more suited to becoming Chaser wolves, especially if he's bred to Chaser females...!

And if I want nice high stats on strength for a good Finisher? I might need to buy from someone whose stud is a Finisher and has thus earned all those strength points! Or find a Finisher stud to breed a Finisher gal to!

I think it's going to be super interesting to watch people's priorities shift as different aspects of the game get more explored!

This is an interesting topic and one I thought about. I've yet to breed any pups for keeping but was considering doing something of the subject

I think next time I breed a wolf I'll try something out and post my results

I definitely am doing so, and have started a spreadsheet to track my efforts, among other things.

Yeah! Since making this post I've decided to double down on developing my Chasers haha.

It will be a while before I'm ready to start breeding, but let me know if you want to collaborate.

Oh yeah, I'm on the lookout for other people doing this sort of thing! đź‘Ť Are you focusing on Chasers too? Or one of the other roles?

I just switched my stud to Stalker and will replace my herbalist soon. Otherwise my current strategy is to send most of my newly grown adults out scouting in RW and Glacier to gain some extra wisdom while doing the first few levels.

I'll be focusing on everything. I have some females that are good stalker/chasers and some that are good finisher/chasers, as well as some that I want to try pairing up to have a fairly even spread for lead replacers and scouts.

Feel free to friend me.

I set my breeding male as a scout so that I can focus on general stat gain and having a well rounded heir when my lead wolf retires, but I’m also starting a secondary herbalist/stalker line. Probably going to use studs for the secondary line in order to avoid inbreeding, but haven’t decided for sure. Also haven’t decided if I’m going to make chaser and finisher lines or just pick pups from the main line and let them specialize through training.
