Story Example:

Title: The Last Cookie

I stared at his stupid perfect face. My eyes were narrowed and my mouth was set in a straight line. This man was going to pay for what he did. It was a vile and disrespectful act that could not go unpunished, if I allowed him to get off scot free there would be a type of anarchy in this world that would bring everyone to their knees in outrage.

He was grinning, he knew what he did, he did it on purpose, that much I knew. He loved getting a reaction out of, and I stupidly gave him one every time he did things like this. His friends surrounded him, encasing him in a wall of protection that he knew I would not attempt to cross.

If I was a stronger person I'd march right up to him and wipe that smug look off his face in a heartbeat. Instead I seethed silently, waiting for my moment to strike to arrive. It may take all day and it may take all week, but he would pay.

--

His friends had left him alone at the lunch table, they were called to the office, just as planned. On his table sat the prized possessions that he stole from me. The only things that could keep one alive throughout the day.

Grandmas double chocolate extra caramel chocolate caramel chunk cookies.

There were two left out of the dozen I had brought to school today and I hadn’t had a single one.

I began my march to his table from behind him, so my approach would go unnoticed. He had taken one of the two left and shoved it in his mouth, if I wanted one I would need to act fast and act now.

I took off at a dead run heading straight towards him, weaving in and out of the tables. My hand reached out as I lunged for the cookie, my feet rising from the ground. My body slid across the table onto the hard floor onto the other side. Triumphantly i rose with the last cookie in my hand.

His face was priceless, eyes in shock mouth agape. It lasted only a second before he realized what was going to happen.

Quickly I shoved to cookie into my mouth with a grin that went ear to ear.

His face fell fast and his mouth opened as he fell to his knees, “That was the last one! How could you do this to me?”

His voice was wrought with despair as I turned on my heel and walked away. The entirety of the cafeteria was staring at us, but I didn’t have a care in the world. I had the last cookie and my revenge was complete.

Poem Example:

Title: The Moon Is My Savior

Yells and screams, shatters and crashes
The sounds that surround me leave their own gashes
The moon is my savior from all that destroys me

Pain and suffering follows me around
Sadness and sorrow bind me to the ground
The moon is my savior from all that destroys me

I wish for happiness in place of my grief
Always waiting for that sweet relief
The moon is my savior from all that destroys me

When dusk begins from ear to ear I grin
It delights me to know my new life is to begin
The moon is my savior from all that destroys me
