The Boreal Rocks

Not too far north from the Alpine Clearing, the Boreal Rocks of the evergreen taiga not only serve as another one of the pack's multiple hunting sites—but they also form a quiet healing ground, where those burdened with illness find comfort and restoration. Jagged cliffs rise from the earth, draped in moss and lichen, their gray faces softened by the thick, evergreen canopy above. Between the rocks, dense undergrowth of ferns and low-hanging branches create sheltered alcoves—natural dens—where sick wolves rest in peace, away from the noise of the forest's usual rhythm. Small clearings, dotted with smooth stones by a trickling rapids stream, provide a rich source of healing herbs, carefully tended to by the pack's herbalist. These wolves, temporarily separated from the rest of the pack, lay in silent recovery, resting in the comfort of the rocky walls that protect their weary lungs from nature's harshness, waiting for when they can return to their hunting grounds and their packmates once more.
