Buffalo Creek
buffalo creek
previously named west creek.
Named due it being a common path for cowboys to herd their cattle through the small mountains and sharp hills during the fall, Saddle Pass certainly isn't the safest area to be in Saltbush Steppe's territory, although its geography and breathtaking view over the plains certainly proves a use to the scouts of this pack. Located towards the bottom of the mountain is a small clearing of level ground supported by flat, jutting rocks, offering a slice of stable ground in an otherwise rough and potentially dangerous environment for any poor fool who doesn't know their way. Below the flat rocks, you'll find a small and inconspicuous hole, just barely big enough for a full-grown wolf to fit through. However, if you manage to squeeze your way in, a short yet winding tunnel awaits, which further inside widens into a dimly lit cave, light from the sun above peeking through cracks in the rocks and dappling the floor inside. Stalks of buffalo grass and fescue coat the ground which provide both bedding and insulation especially during the cold winter months. The den isn't anything particularly interesting, lacking any proper decoration or amusement, but by the entrance sitting on the ground is the skull of a horse to mark the hole's entrance.

Being a scout is no easy task, requiring many particular skills and attributes that many wolves have a lack of.
