Your eyes fix to a dark wolf figure as you make your way
towards the opening to a rather disheveled looking cave.
your assumptions were that this cave was abandoned,
but after this sudden encounter with the wolf, you're
quick to tense. The wolf's shining eyes watch you as you
stand, judging wether you or they should make a move.
You approach the unknown wolf and introduce yourself
and hopefully your intentions. The wolf seems to ease
at your introduction but gives none in response, opting
to bend where they stand and stretch. Your eyes lock
onto the strange wolf's back and you notice the faint
blue glowing emerging from their back. The wolf notices
your confusion and quickly gestures you to follow them
into the cave, the light growing down their spine as they
enter.
You hesitate to follow. Something about this wolf doesn't click to you, but the soft blue light that has now begun mimicking flames lulls your suspicions and your legs begin to carry you into the cave subconsciously. You struggle to fix your eyes to the darkness that greets you and you take a second to find the shadowy wolf. Puzzled, you line every wall you can with your eyes as you scan for the stranger before jumping slightly at the sound of claws scraping behind you. As you turn, your eyes are met with a rather surprising view. The abandoned looking entrance to the empty cave has now turned into a waterfall covered in flora. Vines scattered across the den and bushes of flowers can be seen growing alongside the spiked roof. You stand there in disbelief as you take in the new scenery. The dull and messy cave you were once in has now been replaced by a homey, plant filled den. Your eyes meet the strange wolf once again and you're once again taken aback with the sight of what used to be just a feint tint of light running across them now a born flame that seems to also be coming from their eyes. They watch you with interest and you meet them with a pawfull of questions and concerns. Their gaze morphs into understanding and their voice begins to echo around you.
Welcome in, dear traveler. Do tell if you've heard of my being.
"My tale tells of many woes, and i am known by titles plenty. My path leads kinning wolves astray from my own. I am who many title the body of preservation. Do you hold the same sympathy as the rest?" The glowing wolf looks to you with interest.

Their voice sings despair, and the feeling floods into you, clogging your lungs and blurring your vision. The pain is unbearable, and you can only hear their few sentences clearly before your legs begin to give out. The black wolf's expression shifts to disappointment, and they turn away from you as your body falls to the ground.
"It appears you do not share it. What a shame. may you find your soul kin, and may they guide you as best they can." The wolf shares these final words with you before you black out. You are found the day after in the middle of a field.

Their voice sings despair, and the feeling floods into you, clogging your lungs and blurring your vision. The pain lasts only for a moment, and you feel as if your soul has been lifted after it. The same flame that rests on the other wolf begins to engulf your paws..but it doesn't hurt. The wolf looks at you with satisfaction and approaches.
"You share the same fate as us, and i welcome you with warm embrace. I will guide you through your final paths and find your rest when you venture past the bridge." The wolf speaks a mellow tone that seems to soothe your mind so much that you've tumbled over, but when you raise your head you find yourself on a fluffy nest. You are surrounded by other wolves and the one you were speaking to is nowhere to be found. Welcome to the den of preservation.
