She'd never known why her packmate had turned on her - only that Rogaku had struck to kill. The memories after that were dim and full of pain - she remembered the rapids. Blow after blow. A dizzying lack of air. A jagged pain, blood, panicked gasps for air. Then blackness.

The girl was no scout, and she was far from home. Scarcely a season a full-grown adult, and behind every wall of reeds, what could only be Rokagu's silhouette. Whether mistaken or real, the fear drove her north, away from her assailant and into the unforgiving sands of the desert, until with trembling legs, she collapsed in Scarborough Pack's territory.

Weasel's children greeted her with a gift of water and many questions. In time, she has begun to recover and is gaining her strength back. Unwilling to not give back to her hosts, she's taken up work chasing for Team Summer. Still, as her strength grows back by the day, and her speed starts to return to her, one question dominates in her mind. Why did Rogaku try to murder her-
