The God of the Blue Essence was growing annoyed with the Goddess of the Purple Essance.
Osiris didn't like that Khalida was disturbing the natural cycle of life and death with her curses of undeath, blessings of immortality, and magic. So, he had to do something about that. Osiris created a realm just for Khalida, and this realm was known as the 'Dreamlands' where all of Khalida's unnatural and magical creatures went.
All went well for over one-thousand years, but all good things eventually come to an end. Khalida's creatures lost their purple Essance. Over the course of time the inhabitants of the Dreamlands lost their purple, and they eventually turned blue. This was due to the blue essence of the environment they lived in and the biolumence water they drank.
And Khalida didn't mind the blue colour of the Dreamlands, but she didn't like her creatures losing their purple essance. Khalida confronted Osiris of the problem and asked him to take his blue essance from her creatures. He told her that the blue essence was to remind her of the gift he gave her.
Khalida was annoyed by this. It wasn't a gift if everything and everyone was blue. It was a constant reminder that Osiris didn't like her necromancy, and that was why he created the dreamlands for her.
Yet, again. Osiris said it was a gift.
And this time, Khalida was so enraged that she attacked him, and they fought to the death.
Osiris won... and he was greif stucken that he killed his one and only friend.
The Dreamlands continued to become more blue with Osiris's essance and Khalida's purple essance continued to fade. In his sorrow he cursed the dreamlands to only open once a month on the week leading up to a fullmoon. The fullmoon was when Khalida died, and so the dreamlands would 'die' until the next month.
Osiris was lonely for several centuries, until he decided to do something about it. Reincarnation, and so. He went back to the Lunar Mountains in the Dreamlands to where Khalida's eternal resting place was.
Osiris gathered what was left of Khalida, her purple essance, and placed it inside a pregnant female wolf. He was so very lonely, so he surrendered himself to reincarnation along with Khalida.
The pregnant wolf gave birth to only one pup. A pup with the purple flame named Sybil and future Leader of the Lycanthrope Pack. It was when Sybil was 2 years old and at the Moonlit beach was when she met Haxus. Haxus looked familiar to her, and he also had the same flame she did, but his was blue. Sybil could never really figure out why Haxus seemed familiar to her, and that was okay. They both often talked about why they felt so familiar to one another and concluded that maybe they knew each other in a past life. Her first time wandering the Dreamlands was vaguely strange. She didn't know why she felt so sad while exploring the mountains, nor did she ever find out why. It was a gut feeling, like something terrible happened there.
But, they had each other now and that was all that mattered.
