Posted 2023-02-27 05:07:39 #965645 I've really enjoyed Matchmaker but it's totally bled me dry in terms of wasting/using items. I've used so much food and amusement items and had to craft so many decors that I'm running out of supply to look after my own pack. I think using the lore items is the only time it's worthwhile for me to give a gift to a wolf. I think it'd be better if wolves had favourite colours and you could give them gems/flowers of their favourite colour instead of using valuable rescources your pack needs ;-; I'm really struggling atm to craft enough decor to offer the dateables Another thing is I notice basically all the wolves I have like the same biomes. Tundra, Taiga or The Conif/Deciduous forest, so it's usually a safe bet to just try those biomes if you don't know. But yeah I'm running out of everything I have because of this event :C It also feels bad to craft a decor to offer to a wolf you don't even like because you just want to get as many wolf decors as you can at the end of the event. Maybe introducing some event decors (various butterflies that drop frequently for example) to make the decor wolves easier to gift would be much better... Amusement is hard enough to get as it is and I'm struggling to offer up feathers etc when I still need to take care of my own pack at the end of the day. I calculated it here: This is my current set of wolves. It goes up by 1 every day as I complete the event. To gift each wolf every day their ideal item, I need: 3 Herbs 3 Decors 5 Food Items 2 Amusement Items 4 Gemstones 1 Flowers To take them on a date you need that item AGAIN, so that's 4 herbs, 6 decors, 10 food items, 4 amusement items, 8 gemstones and 2 flowers. The food items don't go by per-use so you need to try and find a rat/weasel or something to offer up. Then on top of that you need 2 items per date for the matchmaker wolves. Let's day you make 5 matches a day, that's another 10 items to add to the list. I'm getting rid of 39 items PER DAY on the event (tomorrow 41, then 44...), and I can make that back with guarana, but I don't imagine newer players or people who don't play this game all day long can keep up with that :/ I feel as though offering wolves an item should remove a single USE from a decor/food/amusement, not take the entire item. Just to be clear:

I send out 4 hunting parties for all 10 hunting slots a day.
I send out a 5th party for 5 of their slots.

I use 2 guarana a day and I still don't make back enough food to feed my pack anymore 😅

When I have a wolf at 5 hearts, I give them a gift they don't hate. So if x hates gems, I give them a flower. If they hate flowers, I give them a gem. Just so I can get that 3 lovebugs from all of them. But I no longer give them their favorite items, especially if it's something like food or toys, since their affection won't go up anymore anyway.

As for dates at that point, I just don't give them additional items there anymore. Doesn't seem to affect the lovebugs you get from them, so.

That's how I've gotten my items spent under control, at least! Otherwise I only give the NPCs 1-use anything, so eggs, as an example. The bigger foods belong to my pack. So stop eyeballing my food reserves, Cian.

Oof, then I recommend, yeah! Your pack needs the resources more than the NPCs, as lovely as they are. Go hunt your own meals for a change, guys.

I feel like the matchmaking wolves aren't really worth dropping items on sometimes tbh. I'm just trying to get the achievement

As a new user.. the decor item requirements are really hurting me. I end up spending SC on them that I'd like to be saving for other things. :(

I don't have enough things to actually craft them.. so I have to buy.

I'm okay with all the things except the decor requirement, that one feels a little bit over the top and I am now totally out of Butterflies

I have been getting a ton of rat carcasses to waste on these wolves and not that many that I have seem to want amusement, the ones that do just get the odd bone xD And Lore I have plenty of from exploring so that is not a problem either.. But I can see how food can run out if one have a larger pack D:

Regarding decors, the 1000 bone remnants I'd accumulated throughout my years playing Wolvden have finally come handy. Since 5 bone remnants makes a bone decor, pretty much everyone's first recipe on here, I've just been giving those to every NPC and their mother. The recipe should be pretty easy to get too, as far as I can remember. Just another tip for everyone here.
