depends on what kind of stuff you want to do and what for. since you're just starting out, i'd say there is no process! you tend to find your own. just make what you want to see what you like and what not. study how other artists create, and have fun! experiment with everything.

if you want to improve fast, it's good to do sketches of real things. use physical irl references if you can and draw regularly. don't let fear or inexperience keep you from doing something big or complicated, thats how you learn.
