Tertiary Mutations

Tertiary Mutations

I've been bothered by how deafness, blindness, and cataracts are apparently incompatible with secondary mutations. In real life, albino and piebald animals are more likely to have and develop vision problems, including blindness, and some forms of piebalding directly cause total congenital deafness. I'm not saying that, in game, albinism and piebald should also cause those problems, BUT I am saying you should be able to get, for example, an albino wolf that also happens to be blind.
How would this work? Tertiary mutations!
So primary mutations affect lineart, right? Secondary mutations could be limited mostly to color mutations (piebald, melanism, albinism), while mutations that are invisible or require very small art tweaks-like deafness, blindness, and cataracts-would be in a category of their own, called tertiary mutations! Inter-compatible with primary and secondary mutations.
Now, this still doesn't allow for deaf-blind wolves, but I do have another, compatible idea for that, which might warrant its own suggestion. Essentially, exceptions could be made for a few mutations on the same level to be compatible. Deaf-blind is the biggest n best candidate for that, but I understand that it could spiral and over-complicate things, hence why I think moving deafness/blindness to their own level of mutations would be the best first step to inter-compatibility.

Supporting!!, I love this idea and itll give mutation breeders more goals to breed for. As well as give more breeding project variety for that group of players.

Support. It's probably kept to 2 for simpler coding, but this would be more realistic. Theoretically there could be 1 slot for lineart changes and several for everything else. Albinism would need to be the "dominant phenotype" to melanism when showing together.

Agreed on albinism being epistatic over other color muts yees. Technically piebald wouldnt have a visual effect if albinism is active either I don't think (aside from side effects like deafness which are not linked to piebald in this game)
