Stat grinding strategies for pack wolves?

Stat grinding strategies for pack wolves?

Hello! I'm delving in further as a stat breeder, and enjoy breeding and collecting high stat wolves. I've been trying to find the best ways to grind stats for my pack wolves. but have only found a few ways of doing so. I've noticed that specific pack roles offer MUCH more stat gains and stats per levels than others, such as scouting. My scout wolves gain more stats quicker than my hunters, even if I'm trying to send my hunting parties out as much as possible. I've seen others use mentoring puppies as one way, and using adols to train, but it hasn't been working like I hope it would.

Any suggestions or recommendations for stat grinding? I'd love to hear from other stat breeders and see how you all gain EXP for your wolves as much as possible.

I breed for stats very casually and my main method is just to keep hunting parties rolling as often as possible. I expanded my den to accommodate 3 active hunting groups at a time. Three of the packs are specifically to give my favorite hunters the best stats possible before breeding and I have a forth for low stat wolves I know I want bred. I run that pack less than the others but often enough to boost them pretty decently. Also scouts definitely gain stats the fastest and most easily. I like to make my scouts a breeding pair - their offspring this time around were born with 400+ stats each and my favorite will be replacing them alongside a new wolf with different bloodlines. Good luck!

@ytre365

Thank you! I have stuck to this method for the most part, and it has seemed to work for the most part, my highest stat pup so far I believe was around 510+ stat from birth! I currently have a goal of getting all my wolves to atleast 700 stat each, so I'm determined to keep grinding! ^^

Splitting into 3 stages:

Puppy - pup training, you can gain max 63 stats in total throughout 7 lessons the pup can learn if you do all lessons for 2 stats (e.g. chaser pup trained in all lessons for speed and agility and the remaining 7th lesson goes in strength) and 3-hour lesson for another stat or all lessons for 1 stat and all 3-hour lessons for other stats. Every time you decide to train pups, make sure the tutor has the trained stat 1,5 times higher than the pup (e.g. you train agility, the pup has 100 agility so the tutor has to have at least 150 agility) for the best result.

Adolescent - simply, make sure you send the adol to assist in certain task every rollover.

Adult - and there wolves can gain stats either from leveling up or daily tasks:

The total stats you gain from leveling up is the same, though stat assignment has the best chance to be allocated among 2 highest stats of 5. Also, the stat allocation tries to balance two highest stats among each other so the second best stat is usually allocated with the most points (e.g. if you have 200 strength 100 agility and 50 everything else, leveling up tries to assign the most points into agility, strength being the second and lowest chance for the remaining stats).

You get stats from daily tasks such as scouting, hunting, pup training, medicine crafting but you stop gaining them for the day when the wolf gets at least 2 points (e.g. you get 1 wisdom from scouting then another 1 wisdom from scouting during the day and you won't get any stat gain this way until the wolf rolls over). You have the best chance of exhausting the limit  if the wolf is given as many tasks as possible which means that hunting can be the most efficient way if the wolf is hunting 10 times than from scouting, as the wolf most likely won't scout 10 times daily.

The most efficient way of gaining stats is by focusing on exhausting the limit of daily tasks rather than leveling up as long as you're capable of training the wolf to level 20. What I mean is that you shouldn't focus on leveling up the wolves as fast as possible which scouting ensures. Hunting 10 times daily in the hard and challenging biomes guarantees the max level if the wolf hunts for the whole lifespan.

To get the best pups, the wolf should breed being as oldest as possible. Oldest female wolves that can be bred are 7y2m old. Oldest male wolves capable of breeding are 7y11½m old but pack wolves have a risk of dying since the age of 7y6m so the oldest safe breeding is at 7y5½m for male wolves.

More info about max stat calculation can be read here.
