-- THE BOOK OF GODS --

AND THOSE WHO INFLUENCE THEM

Written By Klink

Before the first galaxy was made, well before time started its first nanosecond, an infinity war rages on. A violent game of survival plays, so great that mortal minds couldn't even imagine the rules that play there.

-- God --

A Great Warrior From Many

God is the very personification of nothing and everything, both the father and the mother, both life and death. With a form that's so twisted and extraordinary that it doesn't exist at all.

God is the creator of the very galaxy that we live in. Making its great space out of seemingly nothing. As time goes, God would create all kinds of worlds, even the world that we are so fond with. God's artistry is a never ending pit of creativity as it continues to sculpt worlds and other celestial bodies out of their very essence. All so he can have a space to place her children. Children that will once grow into their own God.

God is always creating, always birthing. Its survival depends on the children they brood. Yet, The Enemy hinders that survival. So, God creates galaxies, solar systems, and planets to provide a nursery. In planets, God births little gods that influence the planet itself. Releases them into the wild so that the strongest can survive. Then God continues her way to the next planet so the process can start all over again.

For each galaxy, only one god can grow enough power to mature into God. Once that happens, that God must find new territory to create their very own galaxy so the process can start all over again.

-- The Gods --

God's Children

There are multiple ways a god can obtain the power it needs to mature. Creativity is necessary to come on top.

Born with only one purpose, these gods are the personifications of what God creates in their worlds. They find themselves forms of whatever they think will gain them the most power. Often finding themselves forms based off of objects, places, creatures, and sometimes hypothetical or psychological constructs. Examples of this include - The God of Trees or The God of Time.

A god can only do so much before they too have to fight for their domain. As there are always other gods clambering for power. Which is the very source they can grow from. Obtaining this power is easy and one of the ways they can gain power is through the use of Followers. These mortal creatures act as a continuous source of power to give once they died. As long as there are beings following the god, there is a continuous gain of power. Young, weak gods are allowed to interact with the mortal realm. Using their small size to start their following. But once they grow in power, they become too big for the mortal realm and cannot interact with it anymore. To combat this, Gods create their own vessels.

There are two types of gods, gods that were born from God itself are known as 'True Gods'. The other type are known as 'False Gods'. These gods are formed once mortals find themselves with a large amount of followers who believe they are a god. False gods can be living or even inanimate objects that gain consciousness through godhood.

False Gods have the same powers that True Gods have, yet they're often frowned upon by True Gods and are hunted by both god and vessel as False Gods create unnecessary competition. Taking away power that could be given to True Gods. As a result, False Gods go into hiding and only et their vessels venture.

If a god dies. Both the god and their vessel die with the god. Death is final.

-- Vessels --

A God's Right Hand Man

A god can only make one vessel at a time. This vessel can be given many purposes depending on what the god wants.

Vessels are made similarly to how God creates gods: from a small piece of the god's essence. After a god creates the seed, it would grow to become their vessel. Where they then have to give it a job. The jobs that are provided is a spectrum, from gathering followers, to a scout that inspects their domain, all the way to a warrior that defends the domain and kills threats. After a vessel has been given a job, the vessel is free to be planted into the mortal realm. Here they would acquire a form that would best fit their purpose. Disguising themselves within natives.

As the vessels live their lives, they slowly adapt themselves to the purpose they were given, consciously or not. Even though their forms are normal, their souls are not. Because of the essence they were made from, they are the only known mortal that can see their god.

The vessel's physical attributes are not only made from the Vessel itself but also by how much essence their soul has. A well trained god knows exactly how much to put in so they can blend in as much as possible. Yet, still maintaining their abilities. However, newly born True Gods or newly made False Gods have the tendency to add in too much essence. Which causes a vessel to inherit otherworldly attributes that may pass to offspring.

In the event when a Vessel dies. Their soul will be absorbed back into its original god. Once again being one. With their mortal body decaying like usual. Then the god will be allowed to create another Vessel when needed.

-- Followers --

Power Held Within An Unobtainable Shell

Every god needs to get their power somewhere, while here are many ways to obtain this power, there is only one way that is the most effective.

Gods are born for power, they need it to grow and to learn the world around them. Like a mother's milk for her starving young. There are many ways for gods to gain power. Whether that be simply living out the world, or working their way to maturity. The habitat that a god resigns in is very competitive and followers are just a source for growth for most.

Followers do most of the work for gods. Growing from the power of the planet they live in and continue to do so as they grow. Followers are very rich in the stuff. So one of the best ways to get this power is Death. When a follower commits their entire life to a god their soul is automatically eaten up by the god. Helping them grow and prosper. And all the god has to do is maintain a good relationship with their followers and most of the work is done for them.

There are many ways gods can do this. They can either wait until their followers die of old age or they can die prematurely. It all depends on the god and the situation.
