Saved pictures of deleted wolves?

Saved pictures of deleted wolves?

I've got a question that I have not quite figured out yet, and I'd love to hear anyones input on the situation.

So I have a personal record in the forums where I just save the picture of wolves that are in my pack, and keep it there for past reference so I will still have the image once I run out of dynasty space and cannot save all my wolves, this way I thought even when the wolves were deleted, I would just have a copy-pasted photo of them here. But I noticed, that when one of those wolves was deleted from the game (they were in another pack at the time) their picture also disappeared, which I thought was strange since it wasn't actually the wolf, just a copied image, would that mean that the only way to save a deleted wolf's image is to save it on your device somewhere other than wolvden?
What was also strange, was that, the wolf's picture came back after the wolf "re-entered" the game, (probably because of buying them back after leaving from neglect) and their picture showed back up in my record.
But the weirdest part of all of this, was that when a wolf was deleted from the game, and their picture was no longer there, a random wolf's picture would take its place, a wolf that I had never seen before, which was really odd. Would it be a random generated wolf from the game?? Or wardrobe?? As it appeared out of no where, and didn't happen the first time, but it's happening now.

Whatever answer you may have, I'm thrilled to hear :)
As I just want to know what it is, incase I have to start saving my wolves somewhere else.
Thank you for reading!

If you use the image link copied on the wolf page (the one that usually go: https://img.wolvden.com/ then a bunch of number and then .png), when the wolf is deleted because it's chased/death, the link no longer works because the wolf is not there anymore.
And instead of a broken image, the game generates a random wolf (in my experience, usually an adol or a pup) that appears in place of the original wolf.
Unless you save the dead wolf in your dynasty (so the wolf image still exists), that's what happens to those image links.

I'm not sure about the wolf image disappearing and then reappearing, but as you said it's probably that the wolf was "not available" for a bit and then the image came back since the wolf was in the game once again.

The only way to have the image stick is to save the image on your device and then use an image hosting site to get a permanent link of that picture.
Personally, I have created a Google Presentation with all of the wolves that have ever lived in my pack and I use them as viewable storage (you can check them in my profile page, I've called them Dynasty books).
But when I have to share an image of a wolf on the forum (usually the R&C I found in explore) I use Discord. I have a personal Discord with a channel where I upload the image, then I grab the shareable link and use that. I find it quicker and easier than other hosting sites.

If you are less interested in being able to see the picture itself and more interested in just saving all the genetic information, then you can use the link wardrobe, that sticks even after the wolf is deleted from the game.
You just need to open the wolf in the wardrobe, copy the very long link and then paste it somewhere. That way, even if the wolf dies, the game is still able to recreate it in the wardrobe the way it was (The wardrobe page will tell you that the wolf no longer exists, but the info are correct)
That's a method that a lot of players use to keep record of their R&C wolves.

So, to summarize: if you want to be able to see the image on the forum, use a hosting site. If you want to save the genetic info of the wolf, use the wardrobe link.

Hope it's clear and I was of help!

Yes! Definitely! Tons of help! Thanks so much for giving me an answer lol, that makes a lot of sense. I'll be sure to save my wolves from now on using a different site :)
