Development Update #14

Posted 2021-12-20 05:08:59
Not sure how much feed/play from stack will help when I'm on desktop and handling multiple tabs is easier, but play from stack worked wonders on mobile! I use bones exclusively for amusement, and juggling those on separate tabs has been so tedious on mobile that I usually avoid doing it. Doing it straight from the stack made the whole thing a lot simpler.

I already fed/played with my wolves before the auto-select update, so I'm excited for tomorrow to see how that works for my routine. Playing will probably be super simple, curious if feeding will be as well, or if I'll still rather go for single item to make sure I'm only using the oldest meat.

I have a question regarding remnants: do remnants of food still rot? Like, the remnant of a squirrel carcass will still rot if not used or it become an item that can be stored away to be used later for crafting?

Honestly after adding the autoselect it is not bad at all. You just need a stack of 1 item. Wait till you get like 3 large meat chunks and try it out it is a just keep clicking. I fed all of my wolves in around a minute basically without FAPA. I did it on mobile not desktop I don't think it would change much though. Before feeding all my wolves took around 5-10 minutes+ so it does save time and it really fair considering the feature is without FAPA.

FAPA will just make it so you can feed even faster and feed wolves in selected dens which is more for people worth even more wolves than I have that have dens where they starve the wolves etc. So far I like it! I did find a bug though and reported it.

Like Sutittaja said, I see now that recipes require only remnants of the ingredients.

All previous 1 use craftable items are not considered remnants and that make all the items I (and I'm sure a lot of players) saved for months kinda useless.
Are there plans to fix that and convert the already existing 1-use items into remnants?

It doesn't bother me too much for items like bones, that are kinda common, but it could be quite a problem if a player can't use rarer trophies (like fox items) just because they were collected before this update.

Couldn't those items just be used to get remnants, PiffleLovesBaseball?

@ PiffleLovesBaseball Don't worry! None of the one use items are useless! You can just use them and then you get the remnant. Also for things like quests, skipping enclave quests and creating nesting material one use items are still useful!

OMG, I understood the remnants creation part completely wrong!
I thought that when the item reached 1 use, it became a remnant, not that it became one after using all of its uses.

Thanks for pointing it out for me XD

Edit: it was written in the post, but I completely missed it XD
