"I'm sorry, but I can't do that. I'll go over here, if you want." Verdance padded away to the far side of the clearing, looking on sympathetically.

Abbigale clearly wanted to kill Verdance but decided she'd take that pleasure another time. Instead, she went to her daughter's side.

Verdance, being decidedly not guilty in the matter, closed her eyes in the shade. She hoped to mend her relationship with Abbigale, she had been a much better friend than Storm.

Alaskan flicked her tail and descended from the tree. So walked over towards the riverbed and crouched down, keeping her shadow from hitting the water. Within a second she shot out her paw, claws stretched and hooked a fish. She dragged it on land and gave it a swift killing bite, licking her lips in victory.

Mosi flicked her tail irritably as she listened to Abbigale speak to Verdance. Mosi had never been exactly fond of the arrogance from any of Storm's pack members, but it became evidently more difficult when Abbigale would at times show promise of better respect to the other wolves, than decide otherwise. Mosi gave a small glare as the she-wolf walked off to find her daughter, than she returned where Alaskan jumped down from the tree to conclude a successful catch of fish.

"Good catch!" Mosi called out from near the tree as Alaskan gulped up her catch. "Good to know how many folks enjoy fish around here, Tsunami will be pleased." She added, with a small grin at the thought.

Alaskan lifted her head. "Thanks!" she smiled. "My pack is allies with the marsh pack and riverclan so we've learned to fish from them."

(YeeEHaW! Bringing in a character to replace my lead wolf here and to continue my trainwreck of an effort.)
After a while of suspiciously wandering around the area, Aris decided to leave. She hadn't noticed any of the drama, but in a way, Her assumptions that there would inevitably be conflict from this untraditional event...gathering...whatever it was, provided to be slightly right. Even if she hadn't been involved in it nor watched it unfold herself, there had been a disagreement between other wolves, to put it lightly, which kind of proved her point.  She made her way back the way she had come, deciding to get the heck out of here. She continued on her way and was making her way back to the territory her pack owned before being intercepted by Voro, a mostly dark black wolf save for the tan pattern which ran down the whole length of his back, providing quite a clash of light and dark on his pelt. Aris stopped short.
"Voro, what're you doing here? Weren't you supposed to be with Fog?"
"I passed her off to the scouting party. Seemed eager to get out there. But to answer your question, I was asked to find you by Slate. Said she needed to have a private discussion with you about the run-ins with the nearby pack, Especially with the hunting troubles. We've been experiencing."  After a moment,  he stepped past Aris.
"Hey, by the way," Voro said as he looked at the gathering place that Aris had just left. "What's with all these wolves? Are they tryin' to take down the Bisons and Moose nearby?"
"I'm not sure, but we should have this discussion later. I assured them I was alone. I just need to tell you that they're looking quite suspicious to me. Like a pack of coyotes trying to pretend like they're not actually eyeing the kill you just brought down."
"Right...okay, what do you want me to do?"
"Stay clear of this place, obviously, Voro. I don't need anyone from Norbund getting ambushed."
Voro sniffed the air. "Well, there's certainly something going on here. Might not be as sinister as you think, but it is odd..."
He licked a paw idly.
"I could get the truth out of them," he offered.
"Like, you're going to go down and...?"
"Ask around. See what's happening. I mean, you don't seem to be too eager to speak to anyone here, so I can do the talking."
"Voro, I don't think that's a good idea."
"Relax! I can handle myself. Besides, it's not like I'll try to start a fight or anything."
He stretched and yawned. "So you want me to see what's what?"
Aris hesitated. "Voro, you shouldn't...Actually, if you can get all the information out of everyone here who's important...."
"I'm sure I can."
"Then, well, go ahead. I'll be nearby if you need me," Aris said.
"I can handle it, Aris! Just head back, I'll get this sorted out. Besides, who could say no to a smile?" He said, giving a weird sort of expression that looked like a snarl. "I can be charming," he said as Aris looked at him in silence. "So how about it?"
"...Fine. Just don't get yourself hurt."
"Please, Aris! You wouldn't choose me as your mate if I didn't know how to manage things!" he barked.
"I'll be finished soon enough. If I'm not, just head back, Slate still needs to talk to you, Y'know."
With that, he confidently trotted into the gathering area. Aris watched somewhat worriedly but convinced herself that Voro was right. He was pretty capable, so it wouldn't be too hard. Or it shouldn't be for him.
Trotting along, Voro glanced around, looking for someone that could and would be talked to. If that couldn't be found, maybe he'd just charm them into telling everything. Well, he figured he was charming. As charming as a mouse to an owl, he liked to say about himself. Nobody really knew what that meant, but he did his role well enough so nobody bothered to ask.
