All NBWs get deleted when chased, incl. game generated ones

So currently we have a function where if you rechase a chased wolf it gets deleted on the spot. I don't have any issues with this function, but I wish it was extended to game generated NBWs as well. I honestly can't see any reason why it's not.

Ways this will help out:
- You would be able to grab random NBWs from explore to test for valuable things you can't see on the befriending screen but may want to breed from no heritage for: high stats and carrier status. If the wolf ends up being useless to you, you can chuck it right back into the deletion bin without worry of it clogging up the chased pool. This will be especially useful when new carrier mutations are introduced and you want to be the first to get that shiny new wolf pose.
- NO MORE RECHASED NBWs. Have you ever felt the feeling of crushing disappointment when you see the purple shooting star, get excited, then look down and it's Plain Cheeto Wolf #84? Then this suggestion is for you.

Negatives of this suggestion:
? Can't think of any right now.

What would this require from the Wolvden team? A bit of coding.

I can think of a negative, unfortunately. What if someone decides to customize a game-generated NBW? Say like a regular NBW gets a good stat/age roll, so someone decides to spiff them up and make them a stud or something. It would be a shame for a wolf like that to get deleted instantly.

So… why would they chase that wolf? If this suggestion is implemented and becomes public knowledge, they'd know not to. I thought of that earlier as well, but given that this same function applied to chased wolves didn't cause any issues like that, and the information spread quickly, I don't think it would be enough of a problem to not implement the suggestion and lose out on its benefits. With re chased wolves getting deleted everyone just accepted "oh, can't rechase wolves anymore" and everything was fine.

Well, what I was thinking is that say that regular, customized NBW gets old and the player decides to chase them so that they have potential for a second life with someone else, instead of letting them go to their dynasty.

But I suppose, if word got around then nobody would do that. I guess my only concern then would be regular NBWs getting more and more devalued.

That could probably happen. I feel like carriers are rare enough that they wouldn't be devalued *too* much, especially since you have to pay to check their status anyways. But high stat NBWs (and by extension their kids) might take a hit.

Possible alteration to this, wolves with three markings or less getting auto-wiped. Those are guaranteed NBW's for the most part/NBW-equivalent pups.

Someone might choose to raise and chase a low marking T3, though. In fact I feel like this is proportionally more likely? No one is going to bother R&Cing a two-marking gold darker pup, but a two-marking realgar is absolutely worth it.

Yeah, plus I feel like it might be a bit harder to code. If they decide to include the three marking rule caveat under the "chase wolf" button, like they do with the warning that pups and adols don't make it into the pool, it might start feeling less reasonable and more like a bunch of useless hoops to jump through. I think my original idea would make more sense both to new players and to T3 RCers.

How about an option to just kill the wolf to delete it? And keep the chasing system?

You could currently just let it starve until it leaves, but that does feel kind of yucky.

As much as I do feel disappointed when my chased turns out to be a rechased, I'm going to have to say no support. Like Food? said there's a chance it could be a decorated NBW. There were so many of those early on in the game, and I'm sure people still do them for lore. Also it just doesn't boost the spirit of the game. Kinda feels too easy?

Like the Raise & Chase isn't part of the game. It's just a bunch of people using a mechanic to give something back and have fun, boost the community. But if we start asking the devs to change the systems to better boost chances to receive our fancy raised wolves, so they're more common, idk it just doesn't feel right. Then people would just constantly be getting raised wolves and maybe it wouldn't be as special when it does happen?

(Yes I'm aware devs already tweeked the reading system in the past. I appreciated it a ton. But that was more due to mechanics that were supposed to be in the game, suddenly turned on (we thought it was changed, causing a panic), and the devs were very kind and willing to listen and compromise)
