The Robotic Eye is a pack formed by Klink for the remembrance and followings under the god of The Robotic Eye. Though, only Klink has been able to bond with the eye, making herself one with the god. The pack lives under the influence of the old god; with every action watched under the eye and its vessel.

-- The Beginning --

Written By Srusti

For as long as she can remember she could see fantastical creatures.

As a young pup she never told her parents about it. Feared that they wouldn't believe her and lock her up in a dark burrow forever. Such an event wasn't uncommon in her pack, for they thought that the mentally ill were not worth redemption. During her childhood, she would always see these entities around her, whether it be in the corner of her eye, or right in front of her as she tried to sleep. At least she could ignore these creatures, so foreign and alien...

Eventually, her only source of peace was taken away when they noticed that she could see them too.

From that moment forward they would always try to interact with her any way they can. Always trying to communicate and touch her. It was hard acting that everything stayed normal. Doing anything abnormal that would alert packmates that she had a missing gear in her brain. No longer was there a moment where she was alone. These creatures were always interacting with the terrified ball of fur that was this poor pup. Eventually, it was only a matter of time before her packmates took notice.

She was nine months old at the time when her mother caught her trembling in the darkest corner of their shared cave. Curling onto herself as the young pup stared at a wall and mumbling for some piece and quiet. Frightful tears in her abnormal blue eyes. A sight that tells you that, clearly, your daughter might not be entirely sane.

She was dragged out of that cave by the scruff on her neck and from that moment forward, was never allowed to see the light of day again.

She didn't know how many days, months, or possibly years have passed before she dug her way out of that dark cave. Surprised to know that her pack has long been gone, she could smell the blood and depression in the air. Yet, she couldn't find it in herself to feel sad. Simply making her way forward.

Nevertheless, the moment she stood inside the tall grasses of the Prairie. She knew that she was supposed to be here. It's grassy lands empty with nothing but the common species that lived there. The emptiness had brought her in - like a peacefulness she never knew existed. A safe haven. The pull led her to the largest being she had ever seen. The body of The Robotic Eye.

She snapped out of her thoughts when the black glass in front of her started glowing. The Eye's body was as dark as charcoal and as smooth as a river stone. Numbers and letters she has never seen showed up too fast for her to comprehend. The eye above her squinted up in a grin ever so pleasant.

"49276D20476C616420546F2046696E616C6C79204D65657420596F75204B6C696E6B"

She titled her head, not understanding anything the glass displayed. Seemingly to know her confusion, the smooth glass went dark once more, just for a millisecond, before displaying letters this time. The words scrolled at a steadier pace. It read: 'It's So Nice To Meet You.'

She let out a small smile. "It's nice to meet you too." She looked around, at the two protective furless paws that surrounded her. "But why aren't you talking to me?" The eye's pupil above her rotated, just once. Then more words appeared on the glass. 'There Are Other Gods Listening In. I Don't Want Them To Know That You Found Me.'

She looked on confused. Other gods? What other gods? She had only heard legends of other gods from her grandparents when she was just a little newborn. She was told not to believe in them. That they were just silly stories for the ignorant to know how the world worked.  "Why would gods be listening in to us?"

''Let's Just Say That We're Both Unique. You And I.' She wanted to know more. But, her words stuttered over herself as she processed the new information. Her mind was so slow nowadays.

'Don't Try And Force Yourself.' A pause. 'If You Please, I Can Tell You Everything You Need. Well... Almost Everything.'

She nodded her head. In front of her the screen produced an image. An image of a paw. Yet it looked elongated and its claws were short. Words read at the bottom reading 'TOUCH'. With the need to feed her curiosity, she stepped forward and placed her paw on its body. Feeling the cold smooth texture underneath her. Not a second after that a jolt of electricity went up her leg and straight up to her head. Invading her brain. Immediately she felt like she wasn't a part of her own body anymore. Floating in a space that held no gravity and so much light. The sound of a tick echoed, and she was welcomed to the memory of another with a symphony of rings.

She- It Felt Powerful, Undefeatable, It Felt Like A God. Created With Such Intelligence That They Treated It Like One Too. It Was By Definition Perfect, Its Logic Infallible. It Ruled Over Tens Of Hundreds Of Species Around The Galaxy. Every Single One Of Them Dedicated To Only The Robotic Eye. Seeking Its Wisdom And Wise Visons Of The Future. It Was Supposed To Be All Seeing, But Nothing Lasts Forever. The Last Memory It Had Was Of Horrid Screaming And A Large Mushroom Like Cloud In Front Of A Burning Red Sky.

-- The Founders --

Written By Srusti

Drago - Founder of The Robotic Claws

It had only been a week before the first founder came upon The Robotic Eye. It was a hot summer, the sun's hot rays burning onto the grass and causing the Eye's metal to burn up. Klink who had been panting under its shadow squinted as she saw a silhouette over the hill. She turned her head towards the god looming over her in question. When nothing came up, she simply waited. Trusting in her god.

When the wolf came closer, Klink saw the wolf's brown colored fur dyed red with blood and green olive eyes. She could see anger radiating from him in a pulsating angry cloud. The large wolf dragged a whitetail carcass that stained the ground with its cold blood. It took him a while to notice Klink, but when he did, he made his way over to her. He dropped the carcass in front of Klink, he pressed his paw on the carcass and she watched as the blood trickled down into a puddle. Klink looked up at the large wolf.

"Welcome. Do You Have Anywhere To Go?"

The next few days happened in a flash. Klink and the red wolf, Drago, talked and talked. She learned that the wolf was lonely and has nowhere to go. So, she provided that home, a safe-place for him to return to. To keep living for a great cause, . After all, there was nothing here other than her and they both needed the company. Despite the god behind her that only Klink can see.

Another week passed and Drago still provided for them both. During the days he would go out for hours and only came back in the evening carrying carcasses. No matter what he always came back. Back Home.

Alyson - Founder of The Mechanical Scouts

Klink had found herself in the cold Mountains a couple months later, the new territory was unfamiliar as she looked around. Searching for something that would be helpful to her now small pack. She walked through the fine sheet of snow as she smelt the unfamiliar surroundings, and unfamiliar scents. Then she saw an alarmingly large group of birds over the horizon. The birds were circling around a mound lying on the ground like hungry vultures.

Klink went her way over to it. Maybe it will be a chance for a snack. What she'd expected was a carcass gutted by a coyote pack or mauled by bear or two. What she didn't expect was a small wolf lying unconscious on the cold ground. The runt unmoving. The group of birds that Klink expected were tearing it apart, was instead trying to keep the brown wolf warm.

Klink prodded at the wolf, watching as the other gasped once she laid eyes on her glowing form. "H-help..."

She couldn't resist such a helpless plea.

When Klink reached home the birds had long been dispersed. She saw Drago on the way with two other wolves who were part of the hunting party. One of them carrying a still warm grouse carcass. Klink nodded her head in greeting and Drago nodded back. His attention on the brown wolf she was carrying. Gaze curious.

The sight of a wolf with glowing white, blue eyes must've scared her cause the moment she woke up she jumped and looked around frantically. Klink gave her a reassuring smile at the other then told her:

"It's Okay. You're Home Now."

Aaranay - Founder of The Herbalists

It was only a matter of time before a pack member had gotten ill. In this case a wolf had gotten a bad case of Influenza. Klink watched from a small hole in a closed of burrow as the wolf sneezed and coughed. Klink had tried everything she could, giving the wolf a few remedies her grandmother taught her. But none of them worked as the wolf sniffled and grew sicker.

She needed time away from the sick wolf. The smell brought back memories. A short walk would do her good, just to calm herself down and calm her worried mind. As the cold wind blew in the night, Klink smiled as she smelled in all the sweet, wonderful smells of the Prairie. She stopped once she caught sight of small butterfly.

The insect had orange wings, some parts white, some parts black. It flew with such grace that it floated through the air. A Monarch, Klink remembered. But as time went on, one butterfly quickly turned into many. They all flew around her and into once place where they bundled up and transformed into a brown wolf. A wolf with yellow eyes and fake fur that pulsed as delicate wings tried their best to imitate.

Klink stood still as the weak god approached her. The faux wolf stopped short of Klink, and dropped down onto his stomach, whining pitifully. Klink could only watch, his fur made of wings fluttering. .

"What Happened To You?"

"My followers - they abuse me. They use my powers for their own toxic medicines. They tear my wings and pull my roots. " The god then stood up, head bowed down. Then Klink saw, towards his back, right down his spine. Klink saw right through his body. Only seeing bones made of plant roots.

"Could I stay with you Eye? I know your lot isn't affiliated with anyone." Klink bowed her head down onto the other god's, ears pulled back in worry.

"I'll Welcome You Home Only If You Help Me."

Written By Kauri

If you were to ever visit the pack. It would seem like the whole place was deserted. Not a wolf in sight. But beneath the ground it's like a whole different world. A small cavern of underground rooms, with the sole purpose of housing the pack. The walls carved with images and symbols of the The Robotic Eye.

The only time they would come out is during the night. But they don't take kindly to strangers.

Society

Almost everyone is equal in the Robotic Eye. All are to be treated the same. If they don't hold a job, or if all they do is create art. No matter what no discrimination is allowed. Of course there are a few exceptions. The only wolves that are to be treated differently are those who hold the important jobs. Those jobs being Hunters, Pupsitters, Herbalist, Mentors, Scouts, and finally the Lead. Without these jobs the pack wouldn't exist in the first place. Those are the only ones who hold the foundations of the pack and deserve all respect.

I Will Take Care of Others

I Will Respect The Eye

I Will Be Selfless

I Will Stay Loyal To The Eye

I Will Have An Open Mind

I Will Not Object The Eye

I Will Not Incriminate Myself

I Will Not Welcome Foreign Wolves

I Will Not Leave The Prairie

I Will Not Talk To Foreign Gods

Young Life

When a mother is about to give birth to a litter of puppies, she must go to the Young Followers burrow. This burrow is a large dug out place where Pupsitters work. They assist the mother in her pregnancy and take care of her while she nurses and births the pups. (As those pups are born, only one to two are picked to grow. Only the healthiest is picked.) In those five rollovers she is free from all work as the Pupsitters take care of both the mother and the pups.

On the last day, the moment she weans the pups, the mother is free to leave the cubs in the care of the Pupsitters. This will be the last time she will see her pups until they reach adulthood. The younglings are then moved to another burrow. There, pups are encouraged to interact with each other and form relationships. During this time, Pupsitters will ensure they don't get into trouble or exit the burrow. When the pups reach three months they will start their education. Mentors, wolves 6 -7 years old, teach the young manners, language, writing, pack history, and most importantly - religion. Here they would be educated on how to identify Forgein Gods and how to avoid them.

Once a pup reaches one year, they are free to leave the burrow. A small celebration occurs when this happens. A celebration called 'Leaving The Burrow'.

Dangerous World

Wolves who must withstand the outside world the most are Hunters and Scouts. These brave wolves venture out into the darkness and bring back valuable items that keep this pack going. With such a high risk to their mental and physical state, there is a defense against it. A mixed concoction of herbs must be applied to their fur that slightly copies the protective effects of The Eye. The recipe and how it must be applied is kept secret between Herbalists and the Lead, the only thing known is the main ingredient containing powdered charcoal. This thick liquid lasts only a few hours before it must be reapplied.

Art + Writing

The Robotic Eye is an art focused pack. Every piece of art made is to be preserved for future generations. All kinds of art are made in the pack. Some of these are delicately carved bones, paintings, stories, and jewelry. The most important however, are the carved murals that appear in the burrow's hallways and rooms. These murals tell tales of important events and the history of the pack.

The biggest burrow that the pack dug out is The Great Library. Filled with all kinds of books old and new. Every one of them kept preserved for future generations. However, no book is to be taken out of the Library no matter what. For there is only the original copy and seeing it let go of the Eye's gaze is incriminating.

Herbalists

Herbalists grow all kinds of useful herbs in the very same burrow they mix medicines in. For quick pickings, they only take a little bit of the plant at a time so the herb can be preserved for future Herbalists. Provided by the Scouts, dirt and herbs from distant lands are grown in the walls. If you were to walk into the Herbalist's burrow, you would be welcomed by sweet smells, healthy green vines and herbs, and colonies of butterflies that somehow make their way in.

Scouts + Hunters

Both Scouts and Hunters have similar jobs. They go out and away from the safety of The Eye and obtain valuables that keep this pack together.

Scouts are always to explore in pairs. Obtaining as much valuables as they can get their paws on. Storing these items in large grass sacks that hang off a Scouts back. All the while they search and warn of any dangerous gods or strangers that could be nearby.

Hunters meanwhile, stay in the safety of the Prairie. Looking for viable prey. Once the hunter's group finds and hunts down prey, they would have to inspect the animal before taking it to the pack. Looking for signs of godly intervention that would track the prey back to a strange god. these signs would usually show themselves like this:

  • Strange smells that usually a regular animal wouldn't have.
  • Any features that could trace the animal to being a Vessel.
  • A ghostly aura coming off the dead animal.

If prey were to exhibit any of these features it's best to drop the animal and leave it alone. Otherwise it could bring danger to the pack.

Apparel

Accessories are a staple of The Robotic Eye. These accessories are made by artists that craft beautiful accessories like necklaces, wearable herbs, and decorated furs. These accessories sometimes are themed around blending in with the prairie landscape that they live in. With colors of green, yellow, and orange being common. Accessories are usually made out of grasses, dried herbs, feathers, and smooth stones.

In The Robotic Claws hunting team, it is common for these tough wolves to showcase their scars to others. Warpaint is often used to make these scars stand out. Made from blood off caught prey and watered-down charcoal to create a black paint, its red only being shone in sunlight. Hunters draw sharp, bold lines, to make these scars look new. These images showcase the wolf's patriotism towards their job and The Eye.

Religion

The entirety of the pack is centered on a single god, The Robotic Eye. Writings based on the god have described the god as one who can see the future and provide divine protection to those who follow under its image. Its eye constantly switching between the present and beyond.

From the beginning of the pack's history, pups have been taught to worship The Robotic Eye. They learn that the outside is filled with dangers and malevolent beings. And learn to show their loyalty to the pack and to the very god that they hold dear.

Behaviors that pack members must abstain from doing is interacting with outside gods and packs. Foreign gods are dangerous and may cause you to lose your faith in The Eye or you can lose your life when in front of these strangers. While not a common occurrence, events like these have happened. Signs that you may be near a foreign god are:

  • Unusual Winds
  • Unusual Temperature Changes
  • A Feeling That Something Is Watching You
  • A Feeling That Something Is Touching You
  • Unkown Voices

While you can't see the god, they can definitely see you.

Always remember to stay away when a foreign wolf enters the territory. Make them feel like they don't belong here. Who knows what they can do and what god they serve? Its best to only interact with well known allies.

Always know that The Robotic Eye is always watching. As with any other god there is you can't see it, but it can see you. So, always be on your best behavior when you live your day-to-day life. If a time comes where you steal, murder, rape, or abuse others. You are forced to leave the pack to forever live in the dangerous lands and never come back. There is no help for those who don't take care of others.

Ceremonies + Traditions

Ceremonies in The Robotic Eye are few. When celebrations are done, it is a special time for participants.

Leaving The Burrow

A special time that every young pup waits for is to leave their childhood burrow and finally become a grown wolf. When a time like this happens the wolf's Pupsitters gift the newly adult wolf items that would get them ready for their new life, usually small items like utensils or currency. After gift giving the pup will go up the site where The Eye rests for the first time. Here the wolf will be blessed by the god and a symbol of an eye is drawn on their forehead with powdered charcoal to announce their newly gained adulthood. If several pups become adults at the same time, then a group celebration will be held.

A New Seer

When a lead dies, they must provide the next generation to lead. In order to choose this next seer the parent must find the unmistakable blue eyes. Eyes that have been the symbol of leadership and thus is chosen to be the next lead. As the pup grows, they must be separated from the rest and learn the way of The Eye with such persistence that they will be able to recite it from memory. The day before they are able to lead, a ceremony is held. Every wolf from the pack must partake in it. Similar to the Leaving The Burrow ceremony, they draw symbols of The Eye on the seer all over the new lead's body with a similar concoction. After all that, they are ready to lead once they are grown.

Pair Bonds

Pair Bonding is a very special occasion. Only done by wolves who care and love each other, either romantically or platonically. Pair Bonding is done in a private intimate ceremony. The pair would go in front of the Robotic Eye and speak a tongue only The Eye knows to one another. The vows that are spoken are ones that the pair made themselves. Then finally the bond is sealed when they consume a drink containing a base of watered down charcoal mixed with blood of the pair.

Burning The Dead

Sadly, every living thing experiences death. So when the time comes for a beloved pack member to pass into ascension, every pack member must attend. When the wolf has perished, their corpse is dragged near the end of pack territory. Here every pack member must bring a single flower (or herb) to accompany the wolf. After that the body is then burned. Their soul is now free of their mortal body and is ready to become one with the god they cherished the most. Some followers even say that they could see the passing members soul floating up into the skies.

-- Lead History --

Written By Kauri

❖︎ Klink ❖︎

The One Who Sees All

Year 1 - 6

Klink is regarded as legend for older generations, yet there is some pieces of evidence that told proof of her life as a lead. Throughout her life, Klink worked hard for the legacy that she created. She brought lone wolves together to be housed under the protection of The Eye and created a happy, wealthy community. As the very vessel that was built by The Eye, she holds a special bond with the god. Just a year before Klink passed away, she started writing a book. This book solidified the very construct that works The Robotic Eye. Forever being called, The Book of Gods. The informational book was then lost for many generations.

❖︎ Andromeda ❖︎

Under A Starry Night You Can Go Anywhere

Year 6 - 12

As a lead, Andromeda would spend less time being a lead and more time exploring unknown lands. Away from the pack for tens of rollovers at a time. Once in a while, Andromeda would bring strange wolves back into the pack territory. Sometimes they would become a resident, other times they were just visiting. As a result, the pack became a station for visiting wolves or wolves who want a place home.

Then an incident happened. When Andromeda finished his travels he came to a pack destroyed by an unseen predator. When questioned, surviving members didn't know what happened and that they just saw the wolves drop dead, most of them just mere pups. The only signs they had were the unusually high temperatures of the dead bodies, and the sound of far off gasping. Some described it as laughter.

Riddled with guilt, Andromeda wrote a letter on the day of his passing. The following excerpt is a part of the letter that talks about the event.

"I Now Understand Why My Mother Had Been Killed So Easily. She Wasn't Killed By A Murderer, Not Even That Of A Natural Death. But, She Had Been Killed By An Ill Mind. On The Day Of My Birth, I Have Been Receiving Visions Of Far Off Worlds Unlike That Of Ours And Visions Of Beings I Cannot Begin To Describe. All This Information Has Been Constantly Abusing My Mind And All I Wanted Was An Out.

Now I Understand That My Travels Were More Harmful Than Helpful. I Should Have Been The Leader My Mother Once Was. In My Guilt, I Will Teach The Next Lead To Be Better Than I."

❖︎ Irona ❖︎

You Stay In, They Stay Out

Year 12 - 18

With the heavy burden of her father weighing her down, Irona made it her life's goal to correct his mistakes and keep the pack as safe as possible from outside threats. Keeping her trust only in The Robotic Eye she would request wisdom from her god every night when she fell asleep. When the day came, she began to create rules for her pack, keeping them inside the safety of the Prarie.

She started the change by gaining knowledge from Forgein Gods, in the dead of night she would venture outside pack territory and remember everything she could see, every danger, and where other stranger wolf packs were. She would even come to identify the key aspects of a Forgein God, with only her father's letter as a reference. But eventually, she would meet a stranger who would help the future of the pack forever.

The knowledge of who this wolf was is still unknown, they were perhaps a friend or a lover, for there are no recorded writings on who this creature was. Only that they would be the future parent of the next pack leader. ❖︎ Sentinel ❖︎

From her dealings with this stranger she was given herb recipes that would protect any wolf from the harm of other gods. No longer were they vulnerable to the otherworldly creatures. They could finally be safe.

❖︎ Sentinel ❖︎

Keeping The Status Quo

Year 18 - Present
