Hey there! The name's Sharklore. I just joined the site a few hours ago and am slowly getting the hang of things.

So far I've gone hunting once, and the cornsnake would like me to hunt again, but my hunting wolf has no energy left and I don't necessarily want to lock different wolf into a hunting role if I need them to do something else later. Any tips on this would be appreciated!

More about me though: I love animals and pet sites, love games (board games, tabletop games, video games… you name it!), and love making friends. Post here and tell me a bit about yourself—I'm looking forward to making lots of pals!

First off, welcome to Wolvden! :D It can be a bit rough getting started off at the beginning but things get more easy the more you work at it.

Hunting is very important but also has a little bit of nuance too it. When you first join your hunters are going to suck, they've got a lot to learn, but the best way to boost your chances is by finding more wolves out in the wild to add to your hunting team. Then, you can delegate roles to the best suited wolves! (Stalker- wisdom + smarts, chaser- speed + agility, finisher- strength) If you have just one wolf doing all the hunting they run out of energy super quick. You may even want to check out the trading center for cheap wolves who have their stats available to see so you can find the ones who might be the best for your hunting team.

Also, if the quest snake is annoying you, there should be an option for you to go to the questing page and pause the quest in the meantime. You can pick it up when you're ready to send wolves out to hunt again!

@Kantee

Thank you so much! I almost forgot I could go out and explore haha! The black wolf (her name is escaping me right now) warned me not to change hunting packs too often because that will mess with synergy so I was a tad hesitant due to that, but now that I think of it, since I only have one wolf who's gone hunting anyway that shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks so much for the help!

You're welcome! Also a side note about party synergy: I forgot two other tips about that. 1. Party synergy will go down when you take away wolves from your party, so it's best to find the group you want and stick with them for as long as possible! 2. The personality of a wolf is important when it comes to picking hunting teams too. I try to just keep all the same types of personalities together, but my general rule of thumb is that Aggressive can be with Romantic, and Friendly can be with Stoic. Other than that good luck with your hunting!

Hi! Welcome to the game!

Hunting is one of the keys to success in this game, because of course you need to feed your pack. But it's slow going at first because (1) you don't have many wolves and (2) they don't have good stats. (Stats matter a lot for hunting, and the random wolves you find in explore have low stats in the 200s.)

What I did was to make a temporary starter team using a few random explore wolves, and then I bought five pups with better stats (and also much cuter) to be my "real" hunting team. When the pups grew up and started hunting, I got rid of the temporary wolves. (Canonically, I thanked them for their service and we went our separate ways. But actually I sold them lol) That's just one way of doing things, but it worked well for me.

My reply's coming in a little late—I may or may not have gotten swept up in the site, haha! Thanks so much for the advice!
