Marking Rarity (Tier) Quick Check [Spreadsheet]

Marking Rarity (Tier) Quick Check [Spreadsheet]
Posted 2021-06-18 17:58:24 (edited)

As of Development Update #19 on Jun.10 2022 this tool has been discontinued!
Thank you to everyone who used it and gave feedback, the experience helped me a lot!

Latest version: 03/21/2022 Ver.3.2

If everything goes according to keikaku (Translator's note: keikaku means plan) simply download or save a copy to your account of this spreadsheet, then copy & paste your wolf's marking data on top of my mockup example and the spreadsheet should automatically show its tier and associated rarity!

Here's a test I performed:

Newest version includes a "Data String" feature.
It basically compiles all the available information (total number of markings, how many are at 100% opacity, and how many of each tier) into one convenient line of text you can use wherever.

Since I had to manually input each marking, color, and the corresponding tier, some mistakes may have been made. If you encounter any issues or errors, please let me know! Keep in mind, I'm absolutely no expert and this spreadsheet is purely fueled out of my sheer will to make it work.

Dark Brown Markings show as "No Mark"
This is due to the fact that it's currently the only marking color composed by two sepparate words.
This error has been fixed in the 3.0 version, released on March 7, 2022

Thanks for making this.   It will really help with calculating the types of markings my wolves have.

I did come across an error.  Dark Brown Half Stripe is appearing as 'no mark' in slot 4. (see below)

 Slot 1 None                                              NO MARK

 Slot 2 White Muzzle (46%)                    Tier 1

 Slot 3 None                                              NO MARK

Slot 4 Dark Brown Half Stripe (73%)   NO MARK

 Slot 5 None                                              NO MARK

Slot 6 White Tail Tip (73%)                    Tier 0

 Slot 7 Beige Eyebrows (79%)                Tier 1

 Slot 8 None                                               NO MARK

 Slot 9 None                                               NO MARK

Slot 10 Black Smudge Heavy (27%)     Tier 1

GoldnWlf, thanks for the interest!
And yeah, I just finished adressing this error in the original post ^^;

Due to how the spreadsheet currently works, Dark Brown isn't compatible with the search and match function that I came up with. In simple terms, the spreadsheet interprets the information as follows:

[Dark] + [Brown] [Half] [Stripe]

  1. [Color]
  2. [Marking Name 1st word] + [Marking Name 2nd word] + [Marking Name 3rd word] = a unique number is assigned to this specific combination of words
  3. [Unique Number] + [Color] = Tier Result

Since "Dark Brown" is currently the only marking color name composed by two words, the spreadsheet interprets "Brown" as the first word for the marking name instead. The temporary workaround I managed to apply will requre users to manually delete the space between the two words so it reads "DarkBrown" to get a tier result. Hopefully I'll be able to find a solution in the future.

HI Nei, I came across two issues for one of my wolves:

Slot 1 White Nose Bridge (64%)

Slot 2 Red Butcher (59%)

Slot 3 Red Mantle (57%)

Slot 4 None

Slot 5 Silver Patchy Unders (76%)

Slot 6 Silver Trim (63%)

Slot 7 None

Slot 8 None

Slot 9 None

Slot 10 None

Red Butcher has a blank spot listed for its tier, and Silver Patchy Unders has "No Mark" listed for its tier.  Everything else is working fine.

Hey GoldnWlf, thanks for letting me know!
I'll check the issues and update this reply once I figure out what could be the problem.

Update: Fortunately, both were manual input errors that have been easily corrected <:

Hey Eclipse! According to this guide I used as my data source, it really depends on the colors:

Cream, Honey, White and Yellow are Tier 2 while Doubloon and Ducat are the only true Tier 6
