Coefficient of Inbreeding Consultations!

Posted 2021-03-25 15:09:56

silverfire - I'm glad you like the idea enough to suggest I recommend it as a feature! I don't know exactly how that process works, and I'm having fun doing the calculations for other people myself, so I won't be making a post; however, if you would like to make it yourself be my guest! And if you have any further questions about details for the post feel free to ask here or in DMs.  I think it would be nice for inbreeding to be less of an "issue" in the game.

That's so cool! Thank you so much :D I'm guessing a lot of humans have a bigger COI than that haha

I love this so much! The way the term inbred is generally used here is a pet peeve of mine ^^' I don't have wolves for consultation, just wanted to say this is very cool and shares a perspective I had been eager to see. :)

This is so cool! I was wanting to try to find the COI of some of my wolves but I got overwhelmed with all the different variables and then I realized I wasnt even doing it right.

If you dont mind I have two wolves im interested in seeing the COI of, (and possibly the COI of any theoretical offspring between the two if that isnt too much trouble) I got them for pretty cheep bc they were inbred but ive been curious to know what the actual number is

Grechtinjuarez -

Shadow: 4.30% - this is below what is recommended for irl dogs, which is good.
Blizzard: 0.98% - great number, very low!
ShadowxBlizzard Pup: 0%! These two have no ancestors in common!  Great deal, since you got them for cheap.

Wow, I really thought it would be so much higher than that!

Thank you for doing this!

Thank you so much! I’m glad to know they’d be healthy if they were real dogs :)

Was recommended this by someone and I'd happily want to get my first t3's COI checked!

I noticed Michael Scott was part of both of a 2x great grandparent lineage on both sides, alongside Hanta/Ursa, and I'm just curious if this boyo is more genetically sound than inbred.

Thank yiu for doing this as well! Much appreciated!

Kim -

Your Pride's COI is 0.10%. Not bad at all!

Oh wow! Lower than I even expected! Again, thank you very much! This is a lovely thing to see here on WD! Definitely subscribing for future use. 👀
