PEAKCLAN'S PROMISE

...Peakclan, Oakclan, Lakeclan...
Three Clans At War

The water-loving felines were the ones to stir up the trouble in the first place, accusing Peakclan of stealing their fish and crossing their border to drink their water, even though they have a pond and a river right beside their mountain's base. The more Peakclan refuses, the more agitated and angry Lakeclan gets.

Oakclan was more or less dragged into this affair after two apprentices of theirs were doing their assessment and killed prey after chasing it over onto Peakclan's land. Oakclan's leader is also being given foul treatment from Lakeclan because of an argument a few meetings ago.

It seems that all three of the clans have problems with one another. Going back to their peaceful ways sounds almost... impossible, at this point.

Will it always stay this way..?

CLAN TERRITORIES

Peakclan:
Peakclan lives inside the base of the Cascading Mountains, where a system of caves provides safety and warmth for the cats residing in it. There is a large tunnel in the front of the mountain, serving its purpose as the entrance. Coming out of the tunnel is the main cave. A circle outlined with fair-sized stones is where the prey is placed. A large boulder in the back of the cave is where the Leader gives their news. There are separate tunnels all around the main cave; six in total, excluding the entrance tunnel. The ones closest to the entrance tunnel are the Warrior and Apprentice dens. Beside the Warrior's den is the Elder's den, and beside the Apprentice's is the Medicine Cat's. Opposite the entrance tunnel is the Deputy's and Leader's dens.

Outside of the clan's camp is their vast territory, a pretty flat patch of land, home to a bunch of tall pine trees. To the left of the Cascading Mountain is a dusty circle, the Training Clearing. Here, the Apprentices train with their mentors and fellow adolescents. In front of the mountain is a hot spot for common herbs, a perfect place for the Medicine Cat and their apprentice to forage. To the right of the mountain is a waterfall cascading from its heights, ending in a large pool of crystal clear water. It trails off into a river that leads into Lakeclan territory.

Oakclan:
Oakclan lives in the middle of the giant Hollow Oak Forest. They live in a large clearing where the grass is nice and soft. Every rank has a dug-out hollow under specific trees, but the Leader and Deputy sleep in two separate holes in the biggest tree in the clearing. A bit to the right of their camp is a big but slow-moving river with flowering trees bordering it, giving it a beautiful ambiance with all of the birds that live there year-round.

The river also leads into Lakeclan territory, like the river beside Peakclan's Cascading Mountain. Being in an oak forest, they have the widest range of prey selection, but it also comes with its fair share of predators, such as foxes, badgers, hawks, and owls. Usually, these animals only cause disturbance among Oakclan during the Winter, when prey is scarce.

Lakeclan:
Lakeclan is found in a clearing of majestically draped willow trees surrounding a large, crystalline body of water. It is fed by both of the rivers coming from the neighboring clans' rivers. Their dens are located in bushes reinforced by paw with extra material. Their lake is their main source of food, holding many different variants of fish and waterfowl, which are harder to catch but become easy with practice, with a good hunting party.

Outside of their clearing are more willow trees, but since they are so large, there are quite a few open spots between them. The long grasses make up for the lack of cover. There are plenty of berried bushes around to attract herbivorous animals, but when the bushes lose their berries and leaves in the Winter, and the birds turn to migrate, food can become hard to find.

The large she-cat arose from her moss bed. Taking in the scents of leaf-bare, she sighed silently to herself, "There's very little prey, this is a hard Leaf-bare." She padded into the clearing, her tan fur shone under the sunrise. A cool breeze made the ferns rustle and sent a cold wave onto Steppingstar.

She shook her fur and walked over to the fresh-kill pile. She grabbed a large, plump, juicy fish from the pile and brought it over to her den. She began to munch on the tender flesh and finished it. The morning was lonely and she wanted to be out with her clan. She decided she was going to call a meeting. She leaped onto a large rock and stood up high, towering over her camp.

She took a deep breath and began to summon the cats, "Let all cats old enough to swim, gather here beneath the Wet-Rock for a clan meeting." The familiar call rung like a bell throughout the clearing and a sea of cats gathered beneath her. She tood up tall and continued, "Peakclan has crossed out border one-to-many times, we will attack!"

She looked pleased as her cats all yowled in agreement. They unsheathed their claws as if their enemy was in front of them. "I'll lead a patrol of four cats, including myself." She mewed once more, "Roseheart will lead a patrol of three cats, including herself. And A last patrol of five cats will be led by Willowsparrow."

She led her patrol into the tall peaks of Peakclan, she recognized the fair-sized hole at the base of the mountain. She let out a yowl and she burst through. She unsheathed her claws and began to claw at a large white tom. The second patrol came in though the back entrance of the cave and began to claw and the nursery's wall. Roseheart was fighting a small she-cat, an apprentice. She chased the Tom she was fighting off and went to the apprentice's den. She began to tear through the walls, branches and thistle fell inside of the den.

She watched as the camp was being slowly destroyed. He leaped onto Robinmist and they both rolled onto the ground. She let out a yowl and the third and final patrol of five cats burst though. They leaped onto Peakclan's cats. Yowls and Hisses set out throughout the large cave.

She focused on Robinmist and pounced onto her, she clawed at her face and spat. She yowled and bit down onto her tail, hatred and rage rose in her eyes, "This will teach you not to take our prey!" She bit down onto her shoulder.

ROBINMIST // LOCATION: PEAKCLAN CAMP // MENTIONS: STEPPINGSTAR, PEAKCLAN, & LAKECLAN

Robinmist stretched her forelegs as she came out of her den in the back of the large cave that Peakclan resided in. She smiled when she saw some warriors bringing in a squirrel and a scrawny bird or two. Yes, it was leaf-bare, but her clan was still strong.

"G'mornin, Robinstar." She heard Fadedwillow, her second and only living mother, mew from behind her. With a purr, the dilute-caliby she-cat turned around and rubbed her head under her chin.

"Good morning, Fadedwillow! And, please, just call me Robinmist for once. You're family!"

"Impossible!" The elderly female chuckled. "You earned your title, young one, so wear it proudly."

That was when they heard the battle cries of Lakeclan.

Robinmist turned around, her rosy eyes wide with alarm as she saw the leader of Lakeclan leading an assault on her own clan, and she watched as her warriors tore into the ones she knew and love. Pride rose in her chest as she saw them fighting back just as ferociously. They'd show them that Lakeclan couldn't just run in there without a proper reason. She'd make sure to tell her deputy to share this treachery with Oakclan in the next meeting in her place.

Her eyes widened further when she saw Steppingstar jump off of the white tom she'd been mercilessly clawing and run at her. The long-legged female leapt out of the way before impact, but still got bit on the tail. Robinmist let out a yowl of surprise and turned around quickly, smacking her face with unsheathed claws.

"Peakclan would never stoop so low as to steal prey from you water-dwellers!" She spat, fur bristling. "If anything, we should have a right to take your prey after this unnecessary attack!!"

Her eyes flitted to the side as she saw Fadedwillow ushering the other elders, queens, and kits into the Elder's Den, since the Nursery was being investigated brutally. She jumped towards Steppingstar, but at the last moment, she rolled onto her back and used the soft stone underpaw to slide under the large female and claw her underbelly, biting her hind leg before pushing her to the side and recovering her footing.

"Leave now, before you become Lakeclan's worst leader ever known! You'll lose your respect throughout the lands once cats learn that you destroyed not only our Clan but your own in this worthless assault you've put on." Robinmist spat, muscles tense, ready to dodge another attack.

(just a little... note, I suppose? The other Clans only know Robinstar as Robinmist (but her clan calls her Robinstar) because they don't even know she is the leader in the first place, because of the seclusion Peakclan has with their leaders, so technically Steppingstar would think she's just attacking a random cat. :> Also, the walls are made of stone eep-- Sorry if it's a bit confusing--)

She hissed in outrage as the leader clawed her underbelly. She hissed and spat back at her, "Ha! Why would we let you and your leader take our fish!" She snarled and latched onto her neck, she held on and they both tumbled onto the ground. She snarled and clawed at her eye, blood pounded in her ears.

She lashed her fluffy tail from side-to-side before clawing the back of of her neck, tearing through the fur. Blood flowed onto Robinmist's (Star) neck. She used that to her advantage and clawed her hind leg, making her stumble over. "Robinmist, your clan is outnumbered. Lakeclan has many, and that many is more powerful than your clan could ever be!" She watched as her clan tore Peakclan apart.

She looked back to Robinmist. She hissed and clawed at her shoulder, leaving a deep gash. She left bloody, bruised and battered Robinmist behind and ran towards the heart of battle.

She grabbed a large brown tom with her clawed and slammed them into the ground. Her clan let out yowls of triumph as they saw some warrior fleeing into the elders den. She looked at the brown tabby again and clawed at his back. She pursued him for a few heartbeats before baking off.

Steppingstar let out a yowl, followed by her clan. "This battle is won!" She turned and saw Robinmist lunging at her, her eyes widened as she saw she was heading for the back of her neck..

ROBINMIST // LOCATION: PEAKCLAN CAMP // MENTIONS: STEPPINGSTAR, PEAKCLAN, & LAKECLAN

Robinmist yowled in fury and pain as her neck was clawed, and she could feel the blood seeping down. The foreleg that was wounded wanted to buckle beneath her when she stood up, but she wouldn't let Steppingstar show her clan a victory that could never be achieved, because this was honestly just a mistake on Lakeclan's part; she sent a silent prayer to Starclan, to her mother - she desperately wanted Lakeclan to understand that they weren't responsible for taking their prey.

"You would never win this battle! Even if Peakclan were on the 'winning' side, it wouldn't be considered a win!" She yowled, running at the big she-cat. She leapt over her, but wrapped her paws around her neck in the process so she swung around, bringing her onto the floor.

Standing over Steppingstar, she spat at any of her clanmates that attempted to rush at her, seeing their leader on the ground. She huffed in slight happiness when she saw one of her good friends - Sparrowmoon - come to her side to help fight off any Lakeclanners too brave for their own good.

Returning her rosy eyes down to Steppingstar, she unsheathed her claws on her uninjured foreleg and slashed at the side of her neck. It would in no way kill her, and it certainly wouldn't be life-threatening in any way, but it would scar over and be a reminder of her mistake.

"While Peakclan has not taken any of your prey - our leader is sure of it! - you have started a battle with us that could have been avoided if you'd only asked us calmly at the meeting." She hissed, and backed away from the she-cat, letting her get back up, both of their necks injured and bleeding.

"Peakclan!" She then yowled, watching as her clanmates perked their ears and retreated from guarding her as she confronted Steppingstar. "Lakeclan was just leaving. If they know what's best for them, they won't retaliate, and won't anger Starclan by lying at the next full-moon, since I'm sure Mistedstar is very aware of what is going on." She hissed; Mistedstar was her alias for other Clans.

Two of Lakeclans cats, including the deputy, Roseheart, began to corner and fight Sparrowmoon. She focused on Robinmist, before running at her. But at the last second she turned to the side and lashed her claws all the way down her side. She sprang up in the air and kicked her in the face with her hind legs, making her "fly" into the large rock from where she called the meetings.\

She lunged into the battle again and began to bit and claw at a wound warrior. She yowled as she watched the warrior flee into the elders den. She turned and saw as Sparrowmoon was on the floor as her two cats bit and clawed at her.

ROBINMIST // LOCATION: PEAKCLAN CAMP // MENTIONS: STEPPINGSTAR & MISTEDPINE

Robinmist yowled in disbelief and anger at Steppingstar's retaliation, letting out an 'oof' as she hit the rock.

She forced herself to get up when she saw Sparrowmoon being tag-teamed, she knew that the large tom was strong and smart enough to get out of it himself. Sure enough, he suddenly burst up in a leap, grabbing the two Lakeclanners' heads, bashing them into the ground. He shared a glance with Robinmist, and he nodded, running off into the fray of cats to continue fighting for his home and his leader.

Suddenly, a long-legged, misty blue she-cat came walking through the crowd gracefully, her head held high, dark green eyes staring down at Steppingstar. It was Mistedpine, or more famously known to the other Clans as "Mistedstar".

"Steppingstar!" She yelled, fur bristling. Most of the Peakclanners had paused to listen and dip their heads with respect.

Robinmist was shining with pride - her Clan knew exactly what to do.

"Tell me, why are you injuring my Warriors and threatening the Kits of my Clan? Hurting my Elders, and driving some Apprentices to the brink of death!?" She yowled angrily, pointing at an apprentice laying on their side near the Medicine Cat's den, taking ragged, heaving breaths.

"What kind of Leader would you be for not only your Clan but for the forests, if you come and kill innocent clanmembers for what? Your own glee!?" She spat, unsheathing her claws, but she kept her physical calm, although her dark pine-green eyes were blazing.

"Leave. You are not welcome here." Mistedpine finished, letting out a long sigh.

Mistedstar, your warriors have step foot on my land on to many times now." She hissed and sprang at Mistedpine, her teeth sank into her shoulder. She sprang up onto her hind legs and landed on Mistedpine, her huge size almost crushing her. She clawed at her hind leg and snarled in rage.

Steppingstar hissed and spat as she clawed and bit at Mistedpine. Lakeclan had many warriors, and they were strong too. She lay on her back, slid under the smooth-stone floor, and 'grabbed' Mistedpine's hind legs with her claws and brought her to the ground. She jerked her head up and sank her claws and teeth onto her back, hanging on.

Roseheart got up and sank her teeth into Sparrowmoon's shoulder, blood dripped onto the cave floor. She let out a hiss and latched onto his muzzle. Still latched on she jerked her head to the ground, Sparrowmoon hit the ground with a loud thud. The warrior, that had been fighting him along side Roseheart, sprang up and began to claw and bit Sparromoon.

Roseheart turned and let out a yowl and pounced onto Robinstar, she went onto her hind legs, sprang up into the air and used her huge paws to kick Robinstar. She raised her head high as she watched as Robinstar was kicked into Sparrowmoon, and they both slammed into the cave wall.

Then a large-black-tom burst through the entrance with three cats behind him. "Shadestep!" Roseheart hissed, "Why aren't you three guarding the camp!" Shadestep turned and answered with a low, deep voice, "The hunting patrol came back, so I decided to come with Willowpaw, Daisyfern and Bearwood." Roseheart gave him a curt nod and leaped into the heart of battle.

"ATTACK!!!" Shadestep yowled and the warrior he was leading sprang into battle, followed by Willowpaw. Peakclan let out a yowl of outage as two more warriors, plus an apprentice came into battle. Shadestep leaped onto a small she-cat; he grabbed her scuff and the large tom tossed her onto a Peakclan warrior.

Hisses and snarls came from Peakclan as they fought desperately and the Lakeclan warrior continued to claw and bit at them. He turne and saw a small she-cat lying on the floor motionless, "Lilyfern!" He yowled, running towards her, "You will be avenged."

He turned his head and yowled angrily, he grabbed the scruff of the apprentice he threw. He sank his teeth into her neck. "L-Let....go!" He heard her choke out.  Shadestep hissed under her bleeding fur, "Lilyfern will be avenged." He bit down and watched as the apprentice fell to the ground.

Lakeclan let out yowls of triumph at the dead apprentice and suddenly had a burst of energy and strength.

ROBINMIST // LOCATION: PEAKCLAN CAMP // MENTIONS: STEPPINGSTAR & MISTEDPINE

Mistedpine yowled angrily as she fought with Steppingstar. She would call the cats to retreat, but how could they if they were trapped in their own home?

She hissed, slapping the Lakeclan Leader with a vicious strike, drawing blood dangerously close to her eye. Her own pine-green eyes widened angrily as she watched her daughter and apprentice get killed by the newcomers.

"MURDERER!!" She yelled, and with the fury of a grieving mother, disengaged with Steppingstar and ran at Shadestep. She slammed his face into the ground and scored her claws down his sides, leaving deep gouges. She didn't give him a second to recover - the faux-Leader was on him in an instant, her claws digging into his neck, slamming him into the ground over and over again.

Robinmist got up from being pushed into Sparrowmoon. She helped the tom up, and she could feel tears rise to her eyes as she watched the death of Icepaw take place after the Lakeclan reinforcements showed up. She didn't know what she'd do with her Clan after this... and she still didn't know why Steppingstar had launched the assault.

How could any leader do something like this and still respect themselves, nevertheless expect their clan to respect them? She's caused deaths already... She thought, shaking her head.

"Are you alright, Sparrowmoon?" She asked, and he nodded. She ran towards Mistedpine, pulling her off of Shadestep. She knew that if she didn't interfere, she would surely kill the tom.

"Stop it, Mistedstar!" She cried, holding her back.

"MY DAUGHTER!!" She yelled, wriggling out of her grasp. He returned to attacking Shadestep until he went still - Robinmist gasped, but then she saw him breathing - she had just knocked him out, that's all.

Mistedpine turned around, blood dripping from her figure, her sides heaving. "Steppingstar, leave my Clan and my territory now. You are making a grave mistake. You will never be welcomed into our Clan again. If you go through a drought, if you lose your prey because of predators, if your Clan is being torn apart, don't expect Peakclan to come to your rescue." She hissed, her muscles flexing underneath her thick fur.

(just a question... how would Steppingstar know that Robinmist is leader and Mistedpine isn't if there were no hints at all (throughout Robinmist's whole time as leader)?)
