What does Home Biome effect?

What does Home Biome effect?

I’ve seen people discussing moving their packs into certain biomes to avoid certain difficulties with seasons - eg: north to avoid the risk of heat stroke in summer, or south to avoid the cold in winter. I was wondering if the beta testers knew of any effects this would actually have in-game? Is Winter easier in places where it doesn’t get as cold? Does moving north avoid heatstroke?

So far I’ve only read about biomes affecting prey caught by the hunters and herbs found by the herbalists, but I’m curious about whether it’s more in depth than I’ve realised.

There weren't any effects like this during beta testing that I was aware of.. some people might just be moving for lore reasons maybe? Winter was not necessarily easier in the warmer biomes or anything. Winter will be easier in the lower difficulty biomes, however, due to hunting difficulty -- hunting is harder in the winter, and it's the easiest in the lower difficulty biomes. So I'd personally advise staying in a starter biome (Mountains, Grasslands, or Deciduous Forest) during the winter to have the greatest chance of success with hunting.

Changing biomes will also change the decor and background that's available in Raccoon Wares, so many people are moving to specific biomes to get the decoration or background that they like :)

As Maddie said, seasons and weather are not affecting your pack life in a certain biome, safe for the hunting difficulty.

During beta testing, devs discussed an eventual update involving cold/hot biomes and some illnesses, but it's not certain if they will implement it or not and, as of now, there's no mechanic realted to this.
