It was almost like it was yesterday. Mind not the fact that it had been about sixteen years since that dreadful day. The day when Lesya's, and many others in the galaxy, life changed so drastically. Lesya was not much older than twelve standard years when the purge happened. More specifically─ when the clones turned on their Jedi generals and eliminated them all. She remembered it all too well; the sound of the clones' blasters firing towards her master and herself, the sight of her master pushing them all back with his force abilities, him taking her hand and hurrying her to an escape pod and sending her off to some backwater planet with one single order: "Blend in until I come for you." Lesya remembers crying for her master as the human male hit the button and sent her off, terrified of how different her life was becoming in a matter of seconds.

Jolting from the bed that the human girl was curled up in, Lesya panted as she looked around, her mind catching up to the present day and a slow exhale left her. Again─ she was reliving the memory… again. She brought her hands up to her face and gave a gentle rub to her eyes before pushing her tan fingers through her messy auburn hair. After dropping her hands to her sides, the woman moved out of the bed and got ready for her day.

*.·:·.★ ✦ ★.·:·.*

Despite the short time as a padawan, Lesya was able to take the teachings of her master and apply them into her life─ even if she could not use the force openly in public. There were other ways that the force could help her and the untrained eye wouldn't notice. Lesya was able to sense living beings around her and if something dangerous was nearby, which helped the child survive up till now. But her held back abilities did more than just help her sense danger. They, on top of what she learned in her short time as a padawan, help her hone in on mechanic work and that alone helped her find a living.

Once midday arrived, Lesya paused her work on a ship that was docked at the back of the property she had owned for some years now. It wasn't the largest plot of land, simply large enough to home a decent plot to hold ships and other projects she was working on. Stepping away from the ship she was working on, Lesya headed into the humble building that she called "home". The woman entered the kitchen area, working up something to eat, before heading back outside and taking a seat on a workbench. She pushed her tools and knickknacks aside to make room before taking a bite of her meal and watching the skies in content. So far it was a simple, typical day.

A planet he hadn't seen on the scanner rose into view. It looked warm, and welcoming, with hues of green ranging from spring to emerald, telling of a vast forest with plenty of coverage. Plenty of places to hide. The surface was smattered with steel blue. The scanner indicated few lifeforms to the right of the largest body of water. The way he saw it, he had no other choice. There was a tugging in his gut that told him the trouble was behind him, not ahead. Audri shivered, but it wasn't because of the cold. Every breath he took in that cockpit was stolen, and it would be unwise to think that he had shaken the Imperial fighters who wanted their ship back off his trail.

Looking back, there was nothing but empty space. The stars stared back at him, and Audri tried to ignore his anxious thoughts, taking hold of the controls again and steering the ship toward what he hoped would be safety. It looked promising; there were no Imperial bases this far out, that was all that mattered. Of course, the damage had already been done upon his escape. The stolen starfighter was dead in the waters, so to speak, and he would be at the mercy of the planet's gravitational pull. Landing without any safety mechanisms would be tricky, but all he really had to do was keep the ship right-side up. It's simple, really.

The entry took a few minutes, maybe, and it went alright, all things considered. The nose of the craft dipped upon entry into the atmosphere, alight with flames he swore he could feel from inside the glass. Pulling hard on the controls, he kept the ship level with the planet surface until the last few meters. It was a hard, rocky landing, the ship gouging a line in the earth before finally coming to a halt.

He'd managed to hit his head somehow. His breathing was loud in his ears, his vision blurry. Undoing the safety strap, Audri disengaged the engine, though it was no longer running. The cockpit slid open and he climbed out, dropping unsteadily outside. A near-perfect aim, at least. The lake he had seen stretched across the horizon in front of the starship. He was in a rather beautiful, open meadow-like area, a forest spanning the opposite horizon. Close enough, he thought. He had nothing but the clothes on his back and a short blade on his belt. He took a few stumbling steps toward the trees before falling to his knees. Putting a hand to his head, he resolved to shut his eyes and wait for the world to stop spinning.

Perhaps it was too soon to assume that it would remain a typical day of work for Lesya--

The woman was just heading back to work with her tools in hand when something in the skies above caught her attention. Blinking, Lesya watched as she studied what was quite literally burning through the sky. An asteroid? A ship? With a squint of her eyes, the former padawan was able to make out the shape of a ship. It was crashing, that much was obvious due to the fact it was flying towards the planet's surface at such great speed that fire engulfed the front of the ship.

Maker...

Pushing the work goggles off her eyes, she hurried back to throw most of her tools onto her workbench, keeping what might help in getting whomever the pilot was out of the ship should there be a need for them.

What she was doing was probably quite Jedi-like, but if anyone asked, she was just being a "good person". They can't throw the selfless Jedi assumption on her for rushing to save someone's life when it can be helped and perfectly legal to in the laws of the Empire….

Hopefully.

The woman followed the smoke trail to the edge of her property that met a lake and the surrounding woodland, she slowed to find the ship. It was an imperial model and it suffered damage from the crash. If the pilot was an imperial, then surely helping them out meant a clear on her record, right?

She slowed to a standstill as she watched the cockpit open and a man climbed out, quite clumsily, but he was able to get out on his own. She remained some meters away, studying the man as she knew that she would have to be cautious here to make sure it was truly safe to approach him. She took note of the weapon at his belt as he moved towards the trees, following at a distance until the man suddenly collapsed to his knees and brought a hand to his head. Yes, he's definitely hurt.

"Hey! Are you okay?" Lesya called after mustering up the courage and picking up pace to meet him, now. She slowed again once she was near and crouched to get a look at the man, keeping a harmless approach to keep him from feeling threatened.

The girl's gray eyes softened as she studied the man with a bite of her lip, "Do you need any help?" She asked in a careful tone as she kept a respectful distance for now, eyeing the blade at his hip cautiously.

Even with a dizzy haze settling in, something told him he was not alone. Instinct, possibly. Audri looked up just a moment before he heard a voice calling out to him, but he couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from at first. So he assumed it was for him; there was no one else in this field. He turned his head to look at her, the long, thin grass rustling as she moved, parting like waves. Audri squinted at her, trying to bring her outline into focus. She stopped a few metres back, crouching to be at eye-level. "Do you need any help?"

He was inclined, as always, to say 'no'. He didn't need help, especially not from a stranger. Then again, this was not a planet he knew. She likely did, and he knew it took courage for her to approach him, too. Most people would have turned away, avoiding any hassle at all costs. Most people were wise to run from trouble, and trouble seemed to follow him like he was magnetised. But here this woman was, unphased. Unless this was because she meant him harm.

Audri hesitated, swallowing a wave of nausea. He looked at her, brown eyes observing her own. Guarded, but not cold. In them he saw something like a scapegoat, a way out. Or at least a temporary safe haven. He didn't sense any ill intent. In fact, she seemed genuinely concerned, one might even venture to call it 'kindness'. The hand in his dark hair found a sizable bump on his head, and when he looked at it, it was painted with blood. Audri stared, trying to comprehend. His sense of urgency was gone. He remembered what he was running from, but could not get his legs to move. More than anything, he just wanted to close his eyes and sleep, but he couldn't. Not here. Maybe he did need help.

Gradually, he looked at the stranger again, watching him patiently. From their position, this planet's sun shone above her head, creating something like a halo, and although he knew better, he decided to take this as a sign. "I— yeah." In any other circumstances, he would have liked to sound more articulate. As it was, the million things he could have said in between were lost. Audri blinked tiredly, trying to piece together strength and coordination to stand on his own, but he couldn't get more than one foot planted firmly on the ground to bear weight. Some sight you are, flopping around like a drunk fish, he thought, his subconscious managing to string together a most scathing, coherent sentence. The second time he tried to stand, he almost fell again, but this time, there was a hand there to catch him. Audri looked at her, confusion predominating his expression briefly before he realised this was what she meant by 'help'. He would just have to trust her. "Thank you," he mumbled.

The man was taking an awfully long time to ponder on a simple answer to her question. She tipped her head to the side a bit more, watching him with more patience than what a normal person would've probably offered him. A normal person would've turned away or moved to help him anyways... But she wasn't exactly considered to be a "normal person", now, was she?

As he met her gaze, she used that time to study his pupils and the way the dilated and had a haze about them. Yeah, this guy definitely has a concussion of some degree at least. Which would likely contribute to the speed in which it took him to answer a "yes" or "no" question. With that knowledge, Lesya felt encouraged to keep up her patience... which would not have been much if she were still a jedi padawan. This man was lucky they met under these circumstances now rather than about ten years ago.

Her gray orbs focused on the man as he brought a hand up to his head and pulled it away to examine, what she could already see, blood on his hand. She offered him a soft smile, as if an attempt to encourage the man to say yes to her offer, given he now saw that he needed help. Sure, if he said no, Lesya would probably respect it for a little while before deciding that enough was enough and to help him anyways. "It'll be okay, I promise," she said in a steady volume as to not contribute to the migraine she was sure he had.

She watched him as he looked to her again, tilting her head ever so slightly to the side and smiling softly as to keep herself appearing kind for the man. Finally words left his lips.

Thank the maker.

Lesya nodded and pushed herself to her feet, watching him as he attempted to stand on his own. She didn't ask if he could stand or not, seeing as the answer would make itself known here soon. So the former padawan kept her hands ready to catch him if she needed to.

Which she did need to.

She offered him a smile as he looked at her and, honestly, if under other circumstances she probably would've laughed at the quizzical look of confusion on his face. It was quite amusing, poor guy. The woman offered a nod as she adjusted how he could brace himself against her while he thanked her, "You're very welcome," she said softly. "My home isn't too far from here," she promised, "In fact, you crashed right on the edge of my property." She finished with a hum as she glanced back at the imperial ship he crashed in as she began to walk in the direction of her home now and keeping her pace slow and steady for him as she knew he was undoubtedly dizzy.

"I promise." At first, her words didn't register. He'd already forgotten what she was talking about. What was she promising? In the end, it didn't really matter. He was trusting her with his life. Her word was all she had, all he knew to judge her from, and he didn't have a choice but to believe her. He had to get away from the site of the wrecked ship. Without her, he might have simply passed out in the field, easy prey for the Empire. All his work would have been for nothing.

She smiled at him, and he might have smiled back if he weren't so concentrated on keeping his grip on her shoulder, her hand on his ribs under his arm, supporting his weight. Once his feet were underneath him, they took a few experimental steps which were successful in that he didn't fall. She led them through the field to an area where the grass had been cleared. There were ships here, parts strewn around them like in a junkyard, tools piled high on tables. Beyond the yard, a small hut stood between the open air and the trees behind it.

"You live here?" He asked as they paused so she could open the door. Inside the meager building, it was cozy and inviting. Simple. The living room in the front of the house, with an armchair, a couch by an old fireplace. To the left, a doorway into a bedroom. A kitchenette in the back. The floors and walls were brown and smooth, the air warm. "Where is here?" He wondered aloud, his words slurred. Some part of him must have known that he could have meant anything, and so he sought to clarify. "This planet... it wasn't— I didn't know about it."

Gray eyes flickered towards the man as the pair stepped further onto the property, watching as the question came from his lips, asking if she lived here. Lesya offered the stranger a warm smile and gently nodded. "I do. Welcome to Serenno," she answered, choosing to include the response to his second question. "You're lucky that you landed here, honestly. I'm not so sure that the Empire would've been very fond of you if you landed near the capital. I mean, that's if you aren't already an Imperial, yourself... Are you?" The former padawan asked with a slight quirk of a brow.

If he was an imperial, she would simply have to take further caution around the man, not wanting herself to be caught and turned in. From what she heard, surviving Jedi do not have it easy... They either have inquisitors sent to hunt them down or they are sent to Mustafar to die. Neither sound ideal to Lesya... understandably.

She looked back to the man as she finished opening the door, leading him further inside with a help of support under his arm. A small hum left her as she shrugged towards him, guiding him to rest against her couch. "It's a planet in the outer rim territories," she informed him gently as she reached for things to make the man more comfortable, such as; a blanket and a throw pillow. She adjusted everything for him before moving in to examine his head wound.

"It looks pretty deep.. I'll clean this up for you, are you in need of any pain medication?" She asked as she pushed herself to stand tall, smiling at him as she turned to step off to the side. She opened a cabinet in the kitchen, pulling out her aid kit. Which she had to use on numerous occasions, seeing she could be a little bit of a klutz.

Lesya returned to his side with everything needed for his wound, as well as a small container holding pain medication and a cup of water. She set the water and pills aside before moving to start cleaning the blood off his head. "How'd your ship end up on fire like that anyways? I noticed it wasn't looking good as soon as I saw you flying overhead..." She mumbled softly, clearing the blood so that she could apply some bacta ointment over the cut.
