Fishing game: Option to show weight in kilograms/grams

Fishing game: Option to show weight in kilograms/grams
Posted 2021-01-26 15:04:27

First, let me start by saying that I love the new fishing game! :D

However, I’m completely lost when it comes to lb and oz as measurements of weight. Is a 9lb 7oz fish small or large? I have no idea! I (and I suspect many other players) use kilograms (kg) and grams (g) for weight measurements.

My suggestion is to add a toggle button that lets the player choose to see the weight in lb/oz or kilograms/grams.

It would require a coder to add such a feature.

If a toggle button is too complicated or deemed unneccessary, maybe it would be possible to add a small pounds to kilograms conversion table to the page?

This would be very helpful to all players not familiar with english weight measurements.

Thanks for reading! :)

Conversion is roughly

2.2 lbs = 1 kg

so a 9lb 7oz fish is about 4-5kg roughly.

would be nice to have an option for those more familiar w/ kg than lbs.

the only reason i have a good sense of scale w/ lbs despite not understanding either is my obsession with fishing minigames

Support, the most of the word uses KG, it could let you pick your preference or show both

I also support this as I'm not familiar with the lbs weight measurements and thus would like the kg option for the fishing game c;

I support. That outdated measurement system is rather infuriating...

I'm fine with either, whether it's 1 kg or 1 lb doesn't make difference to me as long as I can determine which fish is heavier. It's nice to learn new measurement units though.

Support.

It's not like the minigame is unplayable if you are not familiar with lb and oz and you can still understand when a fish is bigger than another, but it would really be nice to have more familiar measurements.

At toggle would be great, so everyone is happy. If that is not possible and there could be only one type of weight for coding reasons, maybe you could make a poll to see which one the mayority of the players prefer...

Support since this is a very simple change. But for the people who are confused, oz are small, lbs are big, so just get a big number on the lbs and you'll be fine :') for reference, a chunky cat is usually about 16 lbs. Not sure why I used that example, but... There.

Support! The vast majority of the world uses grams. I get its probably more comfortable for the american playerbase, but not so much for the rest of us ;u;

(i am however delighted to now know my own chunky cat weighs somewhere around 16lbs)
