Newb here looking to ask questions!

Hey there everybody! I'm new here and I was hoping to get some questions answered as I get familiar with the site. I have played a few virtual pet sites before, but this one is quite different than most of the ones im familiar with - and, its been a few years since I have played any.

If anybody could help me out, here are my silly newbie questions:

1. What do you, yes you reading this, usually do for fun on here? What I have been doing is mostly just keeping the tab open and revisiting it every few minutes as my energy replenishes to just explore, and do that over and over again. I'm sure theres many other ways to play, and I was curious what everybody else does on here.

2. What does "T1/2/etc" mean?

3. How do you tell if a wolf that you find while exploring is one that another player chased away?

4. When selling wolves, how do you know their value?

5. Sometimes when I go in other players dens, they have emojis and other shorthand in the footnotes of their wolves. Theres not really a question here and more of a statement of I have no idea what any of that means, and I would like to know.

6. What makes for a good breeding pair?

7. How do I change my icon on the forums, and how do some people edit the layout of their profile?

Hey there! Welcome to wolvden!

1. I like to browse the forums mostly. There's some fum forum games to play, there's contests to enter enter sometimes, ect. If you look around you might find something you like.

2. T1/T2/T3 refers to different tier base groups that wolves have. Certain bases are Tier 1, others are Tier 2 and then there's Tier 3 of course. T1 is the most common, while T3 are the most rare. T3 was just implemented recently. I mean, we've known about them for a while but we can actually get them now.

3. Chased wolves will have this purple star on their encounter screen, but you'll only be able to encounter them once your lead wolf reaches level 10

4. There's a "Price Check" section in the Stockpile forum where you can ask about pricing for your wolves, but it doesn't seem like people get very many answers there. You might be better off checking out trading center and searching for wolves with similar stats/bases/markings etc to see what the general price range is. I should mention that lower stat and less pretty wolves might not sell very well, or at all.You might be stuck with them or wind up up having to chase them to get them gone.

5. You can see the names of those emojis if you check the footnotes section in one of your wolf's settings. Just click on the little wolf face by the footnotes bar and when you click the emojis they'll show up in text form.

6. Well, that's kind of up to you. Some people breed for stats, so they pair high stat wolves together to get higher stat pups. (It can go even further with breeding specific stats for specific roles) Some people breed for looks or markings. Some breed for specific bases. There's a whole thread about genetics here. I don't believe they have much on markings yet, but they do have a base calculator that can show you possible bases you can get from a pair.

7. To change your icon, head on over to your profile and scroll down to account settings. Just put the url for your icon into the "tag url" bar and there you go. Changing your den and profile layout is a little bit trickier, but in your profile and den editor you'll find the code viewer button:

Click on that and the text box will turn dark. That's where you would paste the code for the layout you want. The code would look something like this:

There's likely gonna be dropbox link where it says "URL HERE". There's lots of free CSS layouts you can find over in Layout $ CSS Sales. If you're confused about it you can probably find more info in HTML Help if you search around.

I hope that helps!
