Show Instances of Inbreeding

Posted 2021-01-19 15:15:57

Commenting once again to say this isn't to pressure anyone into clean breeding. It's merely to help those who don't want to inbreed period.

It'll show up on the View Family page, so you won't even see it unless you actually check.

Support, but make it toggle-able. That was people who don't want their wolves to be inbred can be happy and people who don't care can be happy.

Everyone wins.

I would also support indicators directly on the wolves page, especially since mutations are heritable on this game and people going for them dont seem to care about inbreeding.

So if you dont like inbreeding, you can know a wolf is inbred but if you do (for some reason) you can reasonably assume that this wolf might be a carrier of a mutation you like.

This would be toggle-able too, to keep crying to a minimum lol

No support unless it's a paid feature. Let them put their money wher their mouths are.

I've been here for about a month and while the community in general is wonderful, I'm already sick and tired of the extremely vocal anti-inbreeding minority lobbying to force their personal playing styles on everyone.

Anti-inbreeding is not a minority, nor is it irrelevant—and to suggest to force us to pay just to keep our wolves from accidentally breeding with relatives is disturbing. NIB breeders have their own playstyle, and IB breeders have their own playstyle. For NIB players, it's very frustrating to have to pick through each wolf to make sure there is no inbreeding involved, and it would be great for us to be able to just look at a counter on the family tree and be done with it. That being said, inbreeding should not have a downside—but we should be able to see when a wolf is inbred just as easily as it is to inbreed a wolf. It's common sense.

Why would this be a /paid/ feature?

And highly agree with greahound.

Also this feature would help in the case of multiple wolves with the SAME name.

Supporting.

Would love this feature to come to wolvden as well. Helps me keep track with a single glance. Efficient when wolves start having longer family trees. I really don’t wanna compare every single lineage just to make sure they aren’t inbred. It’s also the main reason why I prefer lower Gen wolves.

@ ✨The Bone Fairy✨

Sorry you had that experience, though most of us are pretty chill. We simply would like easier way to enjoy our play style aswell. I hope people agree when I say, I don't want this to become a clean vs. dirty thing like on lioden. :c (Let it just be inbred and non-inbred.)

That being said, I'm leaning towards support, with the condition that it could be turned off/on.

(I also wouldn't mind paying a little GC for it, just like pup stages! ^^)

Honestly surprised it's not already here but I'd like to see it especially because I am planning on sorting my wolves in dens by inbreeding or no inbreeding and this would make things so much easier for me tht miss things easily lol.

The dogs is already inbred or not so this would just make it easier to see if there are any cases of inbreeding I don't see what the problem is in adding it honestly it's not like there's any negatives to adding it
