First and foremost, RULES: Be nice!!! I WILL NOT tolerate any inconsiderate comments about our pets that we love. Please don't make rude "jokes" about how rats are "gross" or anything of the sort. Like I said, they are our pets that we love and care for. Also, please respect everyone else in the thread! If someone is asking for advice be kind. If someone has an improper setup or is providing improper care for their rats, don't be aggressive about it. Offer gentle advice and be understanding to all fellow rattie owners!

Welcome to the Rat Chat!
Feel free to post pictures of yr ratties, share your cage setups, toys n furniture, or any other
rat-related things you'd like to share!

I'll start with my three girls! Arson, Felony, and Tax Evasion (yes these are their actual names) I've had them since March of this year and I love them so dearly!Β πŸ’•

This is Galileo! He was grumpy when he found out I got home from work early and disturbed his nap. He and his brother Hubble are 7 months old and we hope to have two more join us in Feb <3

I love the names of your babies!

I haven't had a rat in over a decade but photos/threads like this always bring up some good memories.

Ours loved to take treats (ever so gently), skip under my bed, and stash them. He was a black/white hooded rat with a sort of "chain" of big spots down his back.

@CarrionYote, your girls look cuddly and beautiful!

@Kaz, I love Galileo's pattern! I hope it goes well with the two rats you've got coming into your home.

Soon enough I'll return to keeping and breeding rats. I originally bred for a while, starting initially for a different reason and eventually just becoming a pet/breeding stock breeder since I had really good animals with great genetics. Now that I'm moving to a proper house that I won't be renting, it'll give me the opportunity to actually continue keeping and breeding healthy, temperamentally sound animals to start people off with as pets or just go out to pet homes/other breeders. I'll try to remember to return with some old pics of babies, litters and stuff at some point.

Eek ratties! I have two bois, Pancake and Smudge. Before them, I had Seven and Eight, my lab-rat albino sweethearts (RIP babies). I then had Henry and Oliver, who were unfortunately sick and passed away. The rats are my beautiful angel babies, I'd love to chat any time!

Such lovely rattos! ;A; Also those names are on point, CarrionYote!

I don't have rats right now, but this was my old boy, Mozzarella Parmesan (Everybody called him Yatty)
He was a absolute sweetheart, loved food and peeing on me lol. I actually plan to get mice next, but I will get a couple rats in the future! Love rats whiskers, they're so tickly.

This morning I got woken up veeery early by my two. I have one of those "silent" wheels and they both love it, the problems are 1. It is not at all silent AND positioned directly under my head (I have a loft bed with the cage underneath) and 2. They love running on it at unfortunate times in the early morning.
