Trophy drop adjustments for high level leads

Oh absolutely, I have to carefully choose which enemies are worth fighting so as to level my wolf up as slowly as possible. Leveling up should be a reward, not a punishment.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Getting trophies should be difficult, but not impossible.

I swapped out my lead a week or so ago, and once I’d got over the sheer irritation of having to grind to level 10 to find trophies again (I’d forgotten that was a thing - what’s the point of having foxes under level 5 since you can never get trophies from them), it made me realise how much easier trophy hunting is as a low level wolf. My last lead got to level 19, and we all know how few foxes there are above level 13 - I’d be lucky to find one per 3 or 4 energy bars. Now, with my lead at level 12, it means anything from level 7 and above is fair game - don’t get me wrong, they’re still incredibly rare, but it’s actually POSSIBLE to find them now. 

In fact, it makes me not want to level my lead wolf up any further because of how much easier fox booping is at this low level. A system where you’re effectively punished for levelling your lead is just broken, I’m sorry. Trophies should become easier to find the higher level you go, otherwise people like me will actively attempt to NOT level their leads. Either that or make enemies scale to your wolf’s level as suggested earlier.

100% support, I finally got a fox recipe drop (the eyes not the base but still) but it is so hard to not only find enemies in the right range to get a trophy but to also win those higher level battles...and don't even get me started on how frustrating it is to get meat chunks or a salve from a lvl 20 red fox after using a lucky foot.

Already commented on this but I want to do it again because I think this is really something that need an adjustment.

We just got the first variant, with its recipe that requires trophies. Once again, I'm all for trophies collection and making things a bit difficult to keep the rarity high, but seeing my lead level up is becoming something negative and worrying instead of a source of pride and satisfaction.

Going from level 10 to 15+ doesn't take that much, especially if you did fight a lot in search of trophies or if the Lunar Event is around (that see us fight a lot to get LTs). We have no way to keep our lead a certain level, the game asks us to level up, but right now that feels more like a punishment than a reward (at least when it comes to trophies).

And this will become even more frustrating when new app/variant/decor recipes will be released in the future.


I know the fighting system will get an overhaul (with skills and other things), so I hope an adjustment for trophies drop will be taken into consideration too with that overhaul (or earlier, even better).

I would love to see players that worked hard to raise their leads level be rewarded with maybe an increased dropping rate from enemies or maybe, when hitting level 20, with the appearence of bosses ranging from level 20-23, that have a very high dropping rates and that are almost certainly giving you one.

There will be bosses for all types of enemies, so that all type of trophies can be won, and they might pop up rarely but not impossible rarely. That will feel like the right reward for making your lead level up to the top.

Support! Especially with how trophies are becoming needed for many applicators, like the fox applicators and now the pose variant, we seriously need this. This is a broken system, to be practically punished in terms of gaining trophies for leveling up is ridiculous.

My old level 20 lead recently passed away and I have a young lead that is currently level 14. It is amazing just how many more trophies I am now earning than previously. It feels like the current system is the opposite of what it should be! Shouldn’t an experienced lead earn more battle trophies?

I support OP’s suggestions and/or the idea of bosses unlocking for level 20 leads.

I want to say again that I support this thread in the wake of the new recipes announced the other day. If trophies are going to be a major factor in crafting items, then everyone should have an equal/fair chance at obtaining them. Having a level 20 wolf should not reduce the chance of finding trophies.

I support this! It's been so difficult since reaching level 20 to find any enemies worth battling for trophies, since so many are much lower level than me.

Support! I've been dragging my feet at leveling up Mierrah the rest of the way. Once she started getting up there, I stopped fighting everything so I could even have a chance at foxes and canines but it's still rare to see those enemies within your level range at this point.

I also think it should be changed to any enemy above you and not just a few levels above. It doesn't make sense to basically be punished for killing a level 20 when you're at level 10.
