Suggestion: Apprenticeship For Adols

Suggestion: Apprenticeship For Adols
Posted 2020-12-04 15:45:34 (edited)

Let's get straight to the point.

We all have adol wolves that just sit around doing nothing.

Taking up space in the pack...wasting amusement items...eating all the gosh darn food! - I, Mistery, say NO MORE to this unacceptable behavior!

Give the teenagers a job to do. Whether that be herbalist apprenticeship or watching hunters hunt - at least it'll give them a much needed purpose.

Here's what I'm thinking as potential roles for adols:

|

HERBALIST APPRENTICE

Preferably one per herbalist, which means one per pack. The apprentice's icon would pop-up on the herbalist page, allowing the player to choose what that apprentice is to do.

Watching Herbert Work = herbalism proficiency. Takes 30 minutes to complete task.

Studying Different Herbs = results in usage of an herb or two from the hoard, but grants a big boost of EXP. Takes 30 minutes to complete.

Foraging for Herbs = same outcome as the herbalist. Takes an hour and 30 minutes to complete.

SUGGESTION BY: Orias #10844

"[Apprentice] has returned from foraging! They brought back... Wait, that's not an herb. Oh well, they're still learning." With a chance of bringing back 1-3 large leafs or rarely a couple of sc (1-2sc). This would happen more commonly at lower proficiencies while their still learning the herbs.

|

HUNTER APPRENTICE

Up to three apprentices for this role. Requires at least one hunter in the pack. Adol icons would be in their own separate tab on the hunting page (like next to the hunting party tab, for example). These apprentices may not be of great use, but they're certainly a good way to stack up on dead rat bodies! : )

Watching the Hunters Hunt = hunting profiency. Can only be performed when adults are currently hunting. Time it takes to do this task varies.

Searching For Rodents = EXP and the occasional rodent carcass. Takes 10 minutes to complete.

|

SCOUT APPRENTICE

Pretty simple, tbh. One apprentice per adult scout. Apprentice icon would be somewhere in Explore.

Border Patrol = scouting profiency. Takes 30 minutes to complete

Pick Fights With Foxes = EXP, but loss of HP

|

PUPSITTER APPRENTICE

May not seem like the most...important...apprenticeship there is. HOWEVER! It's a great choice if that adol is to be a pupsitter in the future. Requires at least one adult pupsitter.

Learn Parenting Tips = pupsitting profiency

Grab The Pups A Snack = pups' hunger bars go up by 5%, but the apprentice's profiency goes down by 2%

Play With The Pups = pups' mood bars go up by 5%, but all (including apprentice's) hunger and energy bars go down by 5%

All these different tasks take 1 hour to finish.

Alrighty - I'm gonna wrap this post up now. Forgive me for any mistakes I might've made, I've been working on this darn thing for ages now.

If, by chance, any game developers are considering my ideas...there's plenty of room for your own thoughts and improvements. You are the creators of Wolvden, after all!

Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments! <3

Support! I think these are a great way to have pups/adolescents training. Maybe puppies can have easier/different tasks than adolescents too? But honestly, I don't want to over complicate, I just want my wolf juniors training.

Support!! This is a really great idea. Adolecents currently do nothing apart from use up your food and amusement items, giving them the ability to do some stuff would really make the game more interesting and give them more value.

Super approve! But i think since we can have 2 scouts per pack, we should be able to have 2 adol apprentice scouts!

Yes! I was just thinking my herbalist needs an apprentice. They should be able to keep their apprentice roles as adults until time to take over.

A small suggestion for the herbalist apprentice for the foraging.
