How's life like in Glacier?

Although I was told that Glacier is a hard place to live in, I still have a desire to go there because glaciers and ice fields are always a charm to me. (I also heard rumors of big fish in Glacier.)
So can anyone tell me about how is it like to live in Glacier?

I didn't do much fishing there, so I can't speak on that, but hunting was a bit of a challenge.
I've had 100% experienced hunters between 600-800 stats but I've only ever managed to hunt critter and small prey, and the chance of catching the prey are less than 50% on average (not taking into account boosts in spring and penalties in winter). If you've got a larger pack, it could cause food shortages, and if you go hunting further out it will take longer (the closest biome, tundra, is not any easier to hunt in).

Basically, if you really want to move your pack to the Glacier, make sure you've got the best possible team of hunters, otherwise you will face difficulties feeding your wolves and/or wasting a lot time hunting in easier biomes further from home (which may fail).

The other difficulty is the scarcity of herbs. Your herbalist will forage in the Glacier and come up with the same herbs that are common to all biomes. Arnica, charcoal, dandelion and yarrow are the only herbs you will ever find, which extremely limits your options as far as making medicines goes (which you can try to amend by trading with the medicine bear who will rip you off or spend buying herb bundles from the raccoon). Worse still in winter, when your Herbalist will spend over half an hour only to get a piece of charcoal you could get in any other biome...

Finally, when your lead dies, your scouts will have to discover & scout biomes all over again. If you're in the Glacier, you will only have "discovered" Tundra and Taiga. These biomes take a while to fully scout again, which means you will be stuck in the Glacier and unable to hunt or explore or move to any other biome for a long time.

Personally, I only moved there for a short period both for lore reasons and because I was curious (and wanted some of the unique decor from the pretty white raccoon) but I wouldn't want to make it my main biome unless I had high-stat hunters & scouts and was loaded with herbs & medicine to last a while.
I have a lot of respect for anyone who bases their pack mainly or exclusively in the Glacier. They're definitely the strongest wolves.

Thank you so much for your experience and suggestions! These should be very useful when I move there sometime!
